yeap, my fren face the same issue with one of the member here, prior of buying the phone, i told him not to update if wanna root, but the sales guy so pandai n go update for him

Found something interesting about Edge/3G/Voice calls.. not sure if this has been discussed before..

I've been getting complaints from friends and families that they cant reach me.. and me on the other hand didnt receive any calls at all and the line is full bars. I'm running mostly on Edge, and 3G when I'm surfing or utilizing the data.

Did further research, and found out that : -

- Edge = voice & data cannot be used simultaneously. (try making a call and look @ the "E".. it will disapear), so if your using ur data ngam ngam at the time that ur fren called, then the call might go straight to voicemail ~~~ (I kena a lot from my mum)

- 3G however is different, you'll be able to make phone calls + data at the same time....

I can't be sure, but no matter if you are in E or H/3G, call and data can't work simultaneously. Even when I hv H connection all the time with full signal bars, my fren sometimes oso can't reach me and I receive many miss call msg fr DiGi, and this only happens to DiGi, not during the time I'm in Maxis. Even when I'm in H connection, when a phone call is in, you will lost the data connection.

the latest v1.25 Virtuous rom can hv dual transfer mode where calls and data can be on the same time

Its been 2 days and my battery still got 40%

Great info there Wilyi... I'm on TB Fusion, and I tested calling on Edge and the "E" disappears when the call initiated. However, 3G doesnt disconnects at all..

I'm on Digi as well, so my bet is with weak 3G connection on certain area resulting the missed calls haha

Still on MIUI rite? Fr Virtuous v1.24 to v1.25, it seems the battery drain faster than previous. Plus my available RAM is lesser in 1.25
