yes it is true don't ever depend on our meter reading it is not accurate and it give you the reference just few 1min before you read the meter and not the overall average, if you just go up hill road or stuck in jam your reading will show high.
drive car too slow, frequen crank start your engine, or drive stop and go too frequence also will make more fuel consumtion because the engine need more power to move the heavay car, leave your car long period without drive will make your fuel evaporate thus you FC also not ecomomy.
new engine need time to run in so the moving parts inside the engine will run smooth once the engine enough run in the FC will improve, ECU update to latest version also will help the FC, it may also update/correction our avg. fuel L/100KM meter reading that not calculate the correct input data.

To correct you abit COSE (aka Centre Of Service Excellent) is locate at KESAS highway it was the HQ of proton service center, else other service center (aka SC) are Proton Edar Service branch (aka Proton official original service center) and Authorised service center (this type of workshop will service all kind of brand of car like normal workshop but just authorise by proton only), some of the SC will allowed you to bring own lube and some are not, but some of the Authorise SC will reccomend you to use others brand of oil which they are selling. This means there are no issue to use other oil other than Petronas oil.

Added on July 2, 2011, 2:11 pmbut somany case see on paper the consumer tribunal final judment will also compansate the consumer like change the item and the compansate the time loss start from the car sending to repaire, seldom see the big valu of money involved as compansate to consumer, If you really bring it to consumer tribunal i thnik it will also end up like what Proton offer to you, unless your Layer really powerfull to bring up the case to High court.
