Highlights of UOB One Card

1. Annual Income Requirement RM24K for Classic Card and RM36K for Platinum Card.
2. Cash Back of 5% for ALL Petrol Stations capped at RM30 per month.
3. Cash Back of 2% for Groceries capped at RM30 per month.
4. Cash Back 2% for Pharmacies and Telecommunication Bills (unlimited amount).
5. Cash Back 5% for cinemas.
6. All other transactions cash back of 0.3% only.
7. Annual fee waived with minimum 1 swipe per month, Platinum need to spend minimum RM3K.

Click here to read my article on UOB One Card - It's A Pure Cash Back Card July 2011 (War of Credit Cards Saga). In this article I prepared a table comparing OCBC Titanium MasterCard vs. Citibank Platinum Cash Back vs. Maybankard 2 Cards vs. UOB One Card.
This card looks good. It's easy to get the annual fee waived! Might just give up my Citibank Cash Back VISA Platinum for this UOB One Card. The 5% cash back at cinema is particular attractive to me. I do have two Citibank credit cards but the problem is, there is no TGV in Sabah and i can't take advantage of their buy 1 free 1 promotion sad.gif

By the way, i just noticed they have migrated to a newly designed website. Well, not really new anyway as UOB Singapore introduced this new website last year. It's certainly thousand times better than the old website. It gives UOB a more professional look rclxms.gif

How much roughly is Amex 5x TP compared to the 5% cash back?
MBB2 AMEX 5xTP is equal to about 2.50% cash back.

QUOTE(WaCKy-Angel @ Jun 23 2011, 11:22 AM)
5% for cinemas only for GSC isnt it? TGV included?

5% cash back is restricted to GSC only.

I justed applied UOB ONE Platinum.

The bank agent said:
- RM 88 will be credited in 2nd bill.
- Annual fee will be waived for first 5 years.
I thought the 5-year annual fee waiver is applicable only to UOB ONE (regular) and UOB MasterCard Preferred Platinum ?

I think UOB One Card is better than Citibank Cash Back as the rebate is credited monthly basis instead of hitting RM50
Just the information i've been looking for! I guess it's time to cut my Citibank Cash Back VISA Platinum biggrin.gif

Mind to post a picture of the card ? Am dying to see how the actual card looks like biggrin.gif

And by the way, did you apply through agent or online ? I was wondering if one will get the RM80 cash incentive if one were to apply at the branch. And did you get the free thermos ? How about the annual fee ? It is waived for 2 years or 5 years ?

QUOTE(Gen-X @ Aug 8 2011, 05:24 PM)
But just to let you guys know, last week I called UOB on my normal Plat Visa GST and was told no offers to waived it, so used my points to offset GST. Then over dinner 2 nights ago, I found out that UOB sent a sms to a "PB valued" customer, prior to the card anniversary date, stating that he only needs to swipe ONE time any amount in that month! I did not get that sms for my normal Plat, therefore I guess I am not a valued customer  mad.gif  So I called UOB and the CS said normal Plat no such offer in the system vmad.gif Now I have to wait next year to see they offer me the same 1 swipe to offset GST for my other UOB PB cards.
LOL! At least they are willing to absorb the GST for their Privilege Banking customers. HSBC will always give you a firm "no" whenever you try to get them to waive the GST for you even if you're a Premier Banking customer doh.gif

can anyone tell , whats the minimum swipe per transaction/swipe for uob one card ? i went to tesco and purchased some stuff below RM50 and my card got rejected twice already .
Bank doesn't impose a minimum swipe on their credit card. May be there is something wrong with the Tesco's card processing terminal or the chip on your credit card.

i have applied uob one classic card online, cant understand the last step...

ask who to signed there
please help, thanks
You must sign on the Principal Applicant's Signature. If you are also applying for a supplementary credit card... say for your brother, ask him to sign on the Supplementary Applicant's Signature. Otherwise, leave the supplementary part blank.

¤ Latest EPF statement or
¤ Latest tax return with IRD receipt or

hmmm, i did not get statement from epf, need go get it?
tax return with ird receipt , the receipt from e filling can?
The most important thing is your payslips. Most people can get their cards approved only with a valid payslip. Therefore, you can send them only your previous 3 months payslips and see how it goes. Shouldn't be a problem.

how about POLITICALLY EXPOSED PERSON DECLARATION who sign there?
Are you a politician ? Or any of your family members ? If not you can just ignore it.

And by the way, i did not see any part asking you or anyone to sign on this POLITICALLY EXPOSED PERSON DECLARATION section. Basically, you only have answer the questions. Otherwise, just tick Not applicable.
