then if dont hv sa and ca everytime pay cc hv to be charged for rm2 rite?
if it is den it sure will waste the rm2.. haha..
Pay at the counter or via cash deposit machine. Then you don't have to pay RM2 for IBG. But you need to take into consideration the time loss and parking fee you have to pay to go to their branch.

cash deposit machine from oher bank also can?
Of course not. It must be an UOB CDM. Anyway, you can open a basic savings account with your current bank and the first 2 IBG done every month will only be charged RM0.50/transfer.

with rm20, u can do 40 times of IBG transfer (0.50 each).
Why do you calculate as such ? RM20 is just the initial deposit and you will get it back when you close the account next time (at least 3 months later). Besides, he suggested to anvil88 to open a UOB Bank account because it is meant to use to pay anvil88's UOB credit card. So, no IBG is involved here.

QUOTE(gerrardling @ Aug 26 2011, 09:03 AM)
dont forget you still have to pay rm8 for the stupid debit card fee annually. Unless they can waive the annual fee for their debit card
You do not have to pay for the RM8/pa debit MasterCard annual fee if you open a Basic Savings Account.

QUOTE(anvil88 @ Aug 26 2011, 09:50 AM)
thinking of the amExtreme ca, it is easier since amBank also very near from my house, going there this afternoon.
Wise choice because it is one of the best current account in the market. It also offer 5x free non-AMBank ATM withdrawals too thumbup.gif

isn't the debit Mastercard a Basic Savings Account ?
*
Yes and no. Their debit MasterCard can be linked to any of their savings and current account and not just restricted to Basic Savings Account.

ok so to ensure you don't have to pay the RM8 annually just request for a standard Basic Savings Account atm card instead of debit Mastercard ?
All UOB Bank accounts come with a standard debit MasterCard. So, just tell them you want to open a Basic Savings Account to make sure you won't be charged the RM8 ATM/debit card annual fee.

The bank will then tell that their ATM CARD is out of stock, only got debit card, hehehe.. This is modus operandi of promoting debit card issuance.
Haha. But UOB Bank only issues debit MasterCard. So no worries there.

Just got my UOB One card. A question: do I need to separately apply for the auto-debit feature or can I already ask Digi and other merchants to auto-debit from my credit card for monthly bills? And do I get the rebates if I go through this method?
*
You can ask DiGi to do it for you and you'll get 2% cash back + RM5 every month (from DiGi for signing up for auto-debit).

QUOTE(mango27 @ Jun 7 2012, 02:51 AM)
does anyone knows how many days the pre-authorized amount for petrol will be credited back?
*
When the exact amount is posted into your credit card account. It takes 1 day to 3 days normally.

QUOTE(mango27 @ Jun 7 2012, 02:51 AM)
lets say we pump petrol 1-2 days before the statement date where its not credited back yet, we still have to pay for the pre-authorized amount right?
*
No. You don't. The amount is still on-hold and you do not have to pay anything for that particular transaction until it's posted into your account. So, if it has not been credited when your statement is out, it means you only have to pay it in your next statement.

This case as just like Amex cannot swipe at Petronas...
No answer can be found.
Maybe the petrol station do not accept certain type of cardfor transaction.
*
No. It's different from the AMEX issue. The reason AMEX is declined at some Petronas stations is because they do not accept AMEX. However, it shouldn't be a problem with a VISA or MasterCard branded credit card.

well, if can't use the word "waive", then maybe use "ignore", "give up", "disregard" or even "close one eye" lor ... muahaha  smile.gif
*
None of the suggested words above fit the situation where a bank pays the credit card service tax on your behalf... And unlike credit card annual fee which most people got it waived easily nowadays, no one is paying anybody on anyone's behalf nod.gif

ok boss ... then maybe use the word "offset" ? or something like "how to make the bank 'makan' the gst" ? of course every tom, d*** and his hamster knows bank cannot "waive" gst, at least on surface, since the money belongs to govt, but if banks are really desperate or creative, they may willing to "absorb" the gst on customers' behalf with certain t&c - such as a huge transaction amount so that the profit made (by the bank) is enough to make it as if the bank actually "remove" gst, which in fact is not because at background, the bank pays the govt ... confuse huh?  rclxub.gif  rclxm9.gif

offset is the word hye has suggested to use all along, a word that makes sense and fits the situation. Confuse ? Not at all nod.gif

hi guys, is it possible to get GST waiver after 1 year of usage?
*
No. The bank will not be able to waive the credit card service tax for you because the credit card service tax is not going into their own account but rather it is going to LHDN's account. The least they can do is to offer you cash rebate of some sort. But do note it's not a guarantee thing.
