What is life's true purpose?

After entering university, life ends.

You work and study hard, then after you graduate you enter the workforce and still, you have to work long hours until you retire.

In my opinion, I can only find one purpose - to attain a higher spiritual being (assuming there exists a higher realm than our realm).

What are your thoughts about this?

What is your life's true purpose?
*
From the stand point of a living being. To propagate or assist others of the same species in their propagating effort, to ensure the continuity of our species. Until that day, our purpose presents itself.

Basically there is actually no meaning in our life, except to let our programming as a living being, runs it's cause.

The thing is, even if there was a God. Is our purpose to accompany God through enternity?
Seems pretty pointless too.

IMO, human is created by God. since i was born, my parent taught me about islam. and there are certain point of my life that arguing about God existence where i almost become an atheist. but then there was something that caught me to think back about the idea of God. to think about how magnificent our own body is.. how can we heal from wound.. maybe we can understand how it works but can we came out with that mechanism on our own?

later makes me to believe that all this things is not created on its own.. Newton stated that: "An object that is at rest will stay at rest unless an unbalanced force acts upon it." even for big bang to occur, there must be something that trigger it.. how this earth can sustain life and why mars cannot.. makes me thinking that human can explain only few things on this world..

no offence to atheists out there.. but when i believe there is a God that govern all these things, i will have some guidance for me to understand the purpose of life.. since i'm a muslim, i was taught to believe that there will be a life after death.. for me to be success on both this material world and afterlife is by following certain rules of God.. religion is not a bad thing, its the people who taint the religion.. to fit their own needs, they manipulate the religion.. according to al-Quran, God said that:

"And I (Allah) created not the jinn and mankind except to worship Me (Allah)" - Az-Zariyat (56)

But this is my opinion as a muslim. i have found my answer and eventually i found my source of serenity.. hopefully u will find yours too.. good luck TS  biggrin.gif

I'm sorry, there are certain parts of what you wrote, that I feel are not accurate.

I wish to address them, but I'm afraid it will end up as a confrontation.

They are not Atheistic in nature, but things I want to say, tends to be what atheist would say.

I'll only say them if you wish me to. doh.gif

I'm looking for my purpose currently. Think about it most of the time.

Funny how the most simple question is one of the hardest question.

Sigh....I'm lost

Play the game which is life. Try to reach maximum point, either on career path, popularity, number of friends, making discoveries, having the most loving family, etc.

Do you have many friends? Are they close friends who you can let yourself loose without fearing they'll think ill of you?

Do you have a partner yet? Have you considered having a family?

Have you been travelling before?

Can you help feed hungry children?

Go ahead, your life is your canvass, you just have writers block. Try something, and see where it leads you.

You can contact me, if you need more ideas.
