MYTV Broadcasting Sdn Bhd, the company spearheading the national digital terrestrial television (DTT) rollout, will waive fees for free-to-air (FTA) broadcasters until June next year as it revises its business model. CEO Michael Chan confirms in an interview that FTA broadcasters will not be charged transmission fees until the analogue switch-off (ASO) in June 2018, which is when Malaysia will complete its DTT migration by terminating analogue transmission. http://www.theedgemarkets.com/article/mytv...-fees-june-2018

QUOTE(truelife @ Jun 19 2017, 09:23 PM) If that's the case, broadcasters should transmit their programmes in HD format. Stage by stage.. Typical Malaysian style

QUOTE(Kadaj @ Jun 20 2017, 05:02 PM) Since we all need to get a digital box to receive TV broadcast very soon, do you guys think it's better to get njoi or mytv? I think both of them receiving digital signal and maybe HD video format right? Don't have high hope on MYTV.. Better to take up njoi.. Don't worry about signal & also better quality

QUOTE(EmoGuy91 @ Jun 20 2017, 10:51 PM) Would TV1/TV2/TV5 HD available on NJOI as well? Also the only weakness of Astro/Njoi was the service completely interrupted during raining. Other than that take Njoi >>> MyTV unless your TV was new enough to have built in DVB T-2 signal tuner. Hmm looks like for now, no HD from those channels... Maybe few years time

QUOTE(JohnLai @ Jun 25 2017, 01:28 AM) I just hope Astro won't overlay un-turn-off-able ads. You know, those transparent serial number on paid sport channels. It can be abused to display ads too. Yup. Hopefully they won't suddenly think to put ads..

QUOTE(JohnLai @ Jul 1 2017, 02:53 PM) What the hell? Whatever happened to 8TV drama audio? Picture quality somehow acceptable, but audio quality appears to sound like super low bitrate stereo now? Duh, people complain about low video bitrate/quality and now media prima decides to screw audio bitrate instead? Hahaha now only they doing the real testing.. Previous sleeping on the job.. But seriously.. It's not acceptable... Hey it's bolehland. Always do things the very last minutes.. Its in your culture.. Just look at the immigration department... Full house because rushing to the dateline...

QUOTE(nag @ Jul 7 2017, 08:28 AM) Just a bit curious, are these so-called low end manufacturers dumped these units without DVB-T2 from country like Singapore or Thailand (with DVB-T2 implemented) to Malaysia (yet to implement DVB-T2 officially) to clear their stock ? Well I also have the same feeling.. Malaysia become dumping ground for those TV

QUOTE(truelife @ Jul 7 2017, 08:16 PM) Many Malaysian buyers are very price sensitive and not willing to pay higher price. That's why we still can see some lower end 32" TVs with minumum specs are quite well received in current market, like providing only one HDMI and USB port each and without built-in DVB-T2. By comparison, a new 32" Sony TV is priced at around RM1000, while a new 32" Hisense is around RM600 only. True.. We loved cheap stuff.. No wonder those Chinese brands are popular here even with their minimal specs

QUOTE(Anime in HD @ Jul 13 2017, 06:15 PM) Actually, we can receive the signal in Malaysia too. But, badly because our gomen make it illegal law to use in Malaysia except Sarawak. Because to protect Astro(more GST money).. Not to say because Sarawak has many voters for them.. Doono why.. Sarawak seems to get more good deal... Their law don't seems to follows the Malaysia rule.. Like use others dish than astro is not breaking law & others too which deems off topic if discussed here
