Scanning DVB-T2 broadcast using PCTV Nano Stick DVB-T2 (PCTV 290e) for DVB-T2 broadcast..........Nope, still no changes in channels listing or carrier.

Let's see how SKKM  allocates/regulates  frequency spectrum in Malaysia. There are lots of info in the document, but I want to focus on DVB-T spectrum only.

Channel 6-12 will used for DTT service after Analogue Switch Off (ASO)

Note: I found a 2MHz bandwidth  'DTT signal' around Channel 11 or 217-219 MHz to be precise using SDR scanner (GQRX) . But I don't have decoder or software to decode the signal.

The signal is weak, from my work desk; inside office building. but it's there.

But once it goes digital, the video and audio quality may improves a lot. Yeah, still need to use decoder to enjoy the DTT broadcast.

in semenyih also can get RTM DVB-T signal, very strong !!

Just some pixs of Ch 5 HD for sharing. I do not have DVB-T2 tuner or STB hence only Ch 5 HD pixs to share.... New logo but promos n are still in SD. Will post Suria HD, ch 8 HD n Vasantham HD signals when SingTel or Starhub carries them next month.....but these 3 HD chs are already available over the air. Believe those in Johor with the right equipment can receive them. Below are frequencies for those interested from a local forum.

I am not getting the STB for now, waiting for mio TV and Starhub to carry it, hopefully next month. ;-)

So far only one model in the market, the 120 odd Draco model. My TV is still going strong......no excuse to upgrade it. Ha ha ha.

It's included inside the the box together with a HDMI cable.

Any T2 test channels fr RTM or Media Prima?

Speaking of the rapid development in Digital TV broadcast services, Shabery said infrastructure development projects for such needs would start by mid-2014.
He said the digital systems would be tested first in East Coast states.

"The rational behind introducing the digital broadcast system in east coast states like Kelantan, Terengganu and Pahang is to provide an opportunity for places with less density to experience digital broadcast services before expanding to places with high density," he said.
He said the infrastructure development for such services would incur a cost of about RM1 billion and expected to be completed by 2017 before the government decides to end analogue TV broadcast services by 2020.

Bite the bullet and got the Draco HDT2-7300.....am across the causeway but so far only can receive MediaCorp chs. Will post the contents found inside the box shortly. Here are some pixs. For Ch 5 HD, there are 2 parallel chs, one is 5 (HD) [carried on Starhub and mio TV where subtitles cannot be disabled], the other is Ch 5 (HD)[where the subtitles can be toggled on and off].

Will try other parts of the house tomorrow to see if Indonesia or Batam channels can be received. :-)

All bundled inside.....but I can still receive the T2 chs with a regular UHF antenna. The box could be cheaper than S$129 if they do not include the antenna and HDMI cables. Ha ha ha. btw, Happy Holidays!

On the other side of the house, I receive another 3 T2 SD channels from Indonesia. MNC TV, Global TV and RCTI.

Sadly nothing......hope T2 will be the standard to be adopted. 8-)

Will this DVB-T USB TV Tuner Receiver Stick works to get tv signal in malaysia?

the website says it comes with RTL-SDR RTL2832U R820T Chipset...

JB electronic store start selling dvb t2 set top box. RM280. Is it worth it? The seller even said its a hot cake right now.

I just ask the seller the price not asking what brand. RM280 is still too pricy for me. I wait the price drop below RM100 then I may consider it.

Idiot style thinking. Unless STB is subsidized so much that it's given away for free, I don't think those areas will have people who can even afford a new TV let alone a STB to watch digital  . Nevermind that most people in the east coast already own T2 capable TVs 

On the plus side, at least we already have T1 signal in west coast. It's shit, sure, but then there's nothing worth watching on terrestrial TV anymore anyway.
