Not sure abt purplish stain but it could be reflection of oily stain. Oil is immiscible in water and takes time to disappear as well.

perhaps u are right.. after reading about ek nickel problem i became a lil scared that my block might be having the same problem as well. but like u said maybe its just oil coz it seems to disappear now.

Yaya at first i was worried too & about to cancel my purchase. But then i realized that not all user is affected so im doing my own part by removing my 1yo wb to check. Fortunately i didnt find any of this problem.

Anyway thanks to those users affected by this fiasco, they hv actually done a good action by reporting this issue and shared with others. So that EK knows and will improve their nickel plating and QC.

If this happened to me i will also get mad and sad. Hope this round will be taken as a lesson by EK, although it's been a lil bit late to solve. Better late than never...
