A700/AD700 is known to have pretty light bass. Try ATH-M50?

ath m50?..Don't want its kinda outdated..recently checked amazon..its go on cheap cheap cheap sales...lool...I had audition it at jaben before..pretty impressive..what if I emphasise on the mid and high?...will a700 or es7 be suitable?

try not to get "cheapest in ebay" cause u nid spend a lot of time to research or u get some shtty replica or get fakap con by the seller. if want, get from verified sellers or platinum seller or whatever there is that indicates "ebay proves im legit"

alright, a day of wallet damage, time to calculate back budget for another upgrade

well, today i found that most (not all) of audio technica iem are quite bass heavy

mid and high then ad700 (or a700), if you want fuller sound/lows, ad/a 900

should I go and audition first?

What are options for Audio Technica that is same level as Sennheiser HD650?
And do they need good amp to work wonder?

same level eh? now we're talking about flagship over here, and i doubt AD2000 carry the same sound signature like HD650

whenever you guys wanna organize i should be ok (especially weekends)

gary also suggested a power cable mod, which i am interested as the 2 pin plug is quite troublesome

supposedly it'll smoothen out the power irregularities on my govibe peak which is apparent during volume adjustments

Added on December 5, 2011, 6:14 pmmy personal opinion is the AD2k, which is priced similarly, and for 2k, its the flagship of AT's AD series. while senn, its just a reference while hd800 is the flagship for Sennheiser.

Soundstage wise its a lot wider, and has an airy feel (one of the best description is that, imagine yourself hearing music up top of a mountain).

if that is not your thing, you may perhaps consider the closed can A2k (or recently revised version A2000x which is more "digital flavoured" i've heard)

other than that, you may then consider the closed can AT woodies series (w1kx, w5k, or their more limited edition ones if you still can find them)

like with most, if not all headphones, despite the low impedance, it does not mean that you dont need an amp or not needing a good one to make it work wonders, in fact, with the low impedance, the headphones have higher sensitivity and may even be harder to drive than higher impedance headphones. Think of it as a different requirement in driving, as opposed to simply (in general) having higher current/power output to over come the impedance requirement.
