Hi all - a noob question here.

If I want to deposit a cheque into a cheque deposit machine and the payee is OSK Investment Bank, what should I write on the back of the cheque - on the space for account number, name and contact number?

Is it my own account number, name and contact number or OSK Investment Bank's account number, name and phone line?

Thanks.

what bank do you want to deposit that check into?

if you deposit it in ... let say.. into your cimb account,
then, write your cimb account no at the back.
name - write you name
contact - write your phone number.. so they can call you if there's a prblm.

is that for HP/CC or loan payment? if it is then the back you should write your own name, the account number associated with the loan/Hp/CC, and your telephone.

for others you can just leave the back blank.

No, definitely no alteration at the front. But at the back of the cheque, not quite sure though.
To be safe, just tear up the cheque that are wrong and write a new one. Better be safe than sorry.

you can just strike over it, and continue writing.. The information on the back
is not that critical.. it is for the purpose of contacting you if something happen,
and for them to double check that the check is deposited into the correct account.

Alright. I have ugly hand writing, some times I hesitated before submitting it, wondering if I should rewrite a new one.

Front portion = preferably no editing. If write wrong, go and write a new one.

Back portion = If write wrong, just cut it with your pen. Not really important.

After all, a piece of cheque costs you 15 sen. A delay in payment due to bounced/rejected cheque, may cost you delayed payment, interest, blacklist due to late payment (or no payment), force sell your stocks/shares, etc.

Actually, it is not preferably no editing, but strictly no editing now. smile.gif
Any alteration will result bounced cheque even minor editing.

Even company cheque like abc industry, somebody write as abc industries, the cheque also bounce.

Yes. I actually did this with a couple of cheques already without problems. Careless...
