Tips when signing up for Credit Card at Shopping Malls
1. Read the application form properly before signing on the dotted line.
2. Cross-out the IC photocopy with "For application of X bank X card only"
3. Get the namecard of the agent serving you, for follow up cases.

Good info. Thanks. Also want to warn the ladies to please be aware as I was once duped into signing for a card that i did not want.

I wanted the UOB ladies' card, but the agent (sneakily) registered me for UOB One Card instead.

My fault that i didn't double check before i sign so please becareful when signing up for credit cards at these booths...

OT: A useful tip by Hye is to cancel out the items which you are not signing up for.

Or cross your ic with "For application of X bank X card only"

Make sure you blank out the CVV code on the photocopy.

It is in the new wing, 1 floor below TGI Fridays.

By the way, why not consider OCBC MC Titanium (5% any petrol everyday, cap RM 50), Maybankard 2 Gold AMEX (5% any petrol on weekend, cap RM 50 + 5x points everyday) or new UOB One Visa (5% any petrol, cap RM 30 + additional Smartcash at BHP)?

The CVV code is the 3-digit number behind the card, next to the signature panel.
CVV code is used for Internet transactions...

Great info. Where are all those CC counters these days. Carrefour used to be pack with them.

What about Citibank for now?? Can't seem to find it. There was one few weeks ago in Mid Valley, not anymore

You can always go to sunway pyramid as there is a KIOSK counter there, you can apply CC and there is also having a EPF statement machine which u can print EPF to submit CC application

Just curious, would my chances of getting my CC approved if I applied for one at those temporary booth? Thanks for your reply

I was expecting the booth. As usually you tends to get more freebies when the Sales approach you instead of walk-in

err... if u at 1u, better go to maybankard center, u can get the card within 2 hours (the promo stated 60 mins only, but usually there are so many application). if u apply on saturday, can use the card already to get 5%, no need freebies lah

remember, go to bank branch, not booth.
like at 1U last time i went there, ground floor got maybankard 2 booth. this 1 cannot get within 60 minutes.

There's definitely many CC sign-up booth during PC Expo in Midvalley Exhibition Centre from 4 to 6 November 2011.
All under one place... but beware of parking/jam issues in Midvalley.

Thanks for the tips, will be there to apply credit card looking forward for OCBC but just try my luck if approve then good , if not consider that i get freebies. Recently apply Maybank 2 card but got rejected, they did not specify the reason, but they say cannot reapply within next 6 month. currently have 2 cc EON bank and Maybank petronas. Should i cancel any card first before apply new one, does the number of credit card take into account when approving your new application, prompt payment for all the card every month. Looking for cash back card.
