Why doesn't the iPad come with Clock /Calculator?

I heard the iPad dosn't have Alarm Clock or Calculator built in natively?
Why is this so ??  Sure, there's 3rd party apps but why did apple even remove it? Even oldest and dumbest smartphones had an alarm clock & calculator... Are there any other apps the iPad is missing from the iPhone? |
