huhu.. its ok stock car. as long its our ride. biggrin.gif

year 2007 model 5 years warranty a? not 3 years a? mine is end of 2006 edition..

power window lifetime warranty i thought is for new proton car?
*
I did saw the one of the service record stating warranty expired on 2009. But the number plate there write "5 years warranty" rclxub.gif Maybe will call up Proton and see...

I heard Proton vehicles that are still under warranty can get an extension card or something to guarantee lifetime power window. For those warranty habis and habis lama lama dy, can still service the window at Proton SC, but they'll change to the newer "less faulty" version of power window motor, switch, bracket, rubber, and stuffs..

So if not under warranty dy then meaning no need go SC dy la. I think I call Proton after this month and ask them 1 by 1 and reply here...

Just solved the driver's door panel rattling sound, one of the clips came out and didn't fit properly. Adjusted and now done with the door. Now gatal gatal want to soundproof door and cabin.

Regarding the the stock Clarion CD player:
1. Got front speaker output? Since stated at panel 4x__W output.
2. Ada Aux in/ Aux out?
3. How to get the player out ah? I tried to remove 2 screws on the bottom sides of the radio panel (Passenger and driver leg there). But when pull like no reaction one... Want to install el-cheapo RM5 tweeter first.
4. How to set time? LMST dashboard designer forgot to put clock...

not sure la... mine r clarion cassete player    icon_question.gif  icon_question.gif
depends... i do VS + groundin as well.  d stock groundin is not enough if u test it wit ohm meter. d best groundin is use copper.. but will b expensive...

all in all, got different but not really noticeeable laaa...d onli thing i notice is my aircond... already pasang groundin + VS for 4-5mnths d .. d aircond still shows improvement than b4.. usual petang i need put full cool at 1st stage.. now 3/4 cool at 1st stage alrady enough...
*
Aiyo... Masa untuk tukar la... Cassette player susah sikit. Not like every time need to rip cassette from computer...

How old is your car? Thought stock grounding should be sufficient until like 5+ years then start to oxidize until very very bad?

Thank you. Will PM TS after my exams. Alternator belt air con belt and air con bearing will be on highest priority for servicing now... Ok, will try and hag and see what I can get...

The SQ of stock LMST clarion model DB238R seemed to be quite good, at least better than waja mitsu stock clarion's. Not thinking of upgrading ICE yet. Cause planning to get some money to soundproof door and wind noise, wrap seats, add some bars and minor minor addition to the car (mudguards, DRL/spotlight).

Set time I dy got hold of the manual online after long search for this model. Basically quite useless but better than don't have doh.gif Just tried and randomly press... Got it dy. Thanks.

My tinting which is done by previous owner is Tint-Shop, dy bubble like mad. I'm considering to re-tint. hmm.gif

Had all the plans on my mind dy... But my exam not about LMST doh.gif

my car is 5 years.. nothin wrong wit d existin groundin... jus dat d groundin is not enough n stock steel wire is not too good in conductin d current to car body.. adding some copper groundin to few parts of car will distribute d current more..

alot statis noise a? wat spark plug cable u use?

KK a? diy laaaa... haha...
*
Branded radio not easily rosak. Realized that mine is going to 5 years too, no complaints yet. My headlamp is significantly brighter than my parents 8 years ride. I think will do grounding on theirs first. Is those 3.5mm2 welding wire good enough?

That's really eye catching.

Ok... See how la... Those copper welding wire doesn't come cheap also, RM10+ per metre. Other grounding cable like HKS all those dunno real copper or not. Unless I can slice the wire off in front of the sales person... shakehead.gif

Well, I think grounding is important for older cars. The older the better the improvement. White mice pula sweat.gif

I'll say Proton Centre Glenmarie. If want really 100000% Ori Proton there apa-apa pun ada, if there no stock than Malaysia difficult to find already. But a bit more expensive than Taiwan China or outside ones lo.

Problem lagi,
The boot area on the both sides got water leaking in... Thats after rain.
Today first time wash car also leak, but right side only ... Anyone know where probably the area of leak? Rubber seal seems still good... Haiz...

The bonnet mat "wings" part is wet today... sad.gif

user posted image

And also... Mudflap can get from where? Those last time punye iswara's aeroback can fit into LMST? Brother's sell a lot but dunno ngam or not also... Not even mention those size 4 bolts missing... Dunno where to buy..

And lagi... When I turn on small lamp, then i push side signal (not fully push to engage side signal), the light on meter, air con panel, 5 switch panel, front small lamp, will go off suddenly then on again. Connection problem? The driver before me so kaw kaw signal till batang also spoil? doh.gif

buy drop-in k&n filter... it can be used as both drop-in and open-pod...  just remove the airbox and u have urself an open-pod filter...
i think i got sell... pm me if interested...
leaking mayb from tail lamps area...
if u want oem ones, buy from spare part shop... they should carry them...
the signal/wiper switch damaged/not good... common issue... if it annoys u, change new one... else, just leave as it is...

Tail lamps area, haizz... will try to overflow it later... That signal switch doesn't seemed cheap though...
Will check with spare parts to get mudflaps... Here road like ultra stoney... drive fast bit bodykit and bumper paint calar very fast...

*
I'm aiming for Brother's one and can get it darn cheap. Maybe you can start looking from there? Unbranded ones Rm30 got dy...

QUOTE(poolcarpet @ Nov 14 2011, 12:04 PM)
in that case i guess it's a fair price smile.gif as long as mechanically sound, i think cars after certain age will be around that price... for iswara > 10 yrs, i guess it will be around 3k to 6-7k or so...
*
It's a bit pricey but if the car is that nice then, well, you just got yourself a nice and worthy car...

Problem lagi. When press brake got screeching sound... Happens nearly all the time. 4 sides also have it I think. Sometimes brake too hard sounded like horning people waiting on red light, all ppl look at me icon_rolleyes.gif

Is it normal again? Or brake pad going to "kong". I saw 1998 Wira's manual saying Proton ori brake pads are designed to notify user like that when brake pad going to habis.

Proper port and polish needs airflow analysis... not simply hantam... haven't heard of the workshop but wonder if they do have the skills/knowledge (same for any other shops offering similar service)... why the need to do port and polish?

Added on November 15, 2011, 7:10 amYes, go check your brake pads. Most (not only Proton) brake pads have a piece of metal clip that is exposed when the brake pad wears off to a certain level. The metal clip scratching the disc is the screeching sound you hear.

but if you say all 4 sides have it.... might not be brake cause rear is drum brake, will not have sound (I think). Anyway, go check brake pads ASAP, like today.

2 things you never want to mess with in the car - steering and brakes tongue.gif
*
Another LMST I driven before also have this problem... Okay, will prioritize it braking system... Erm, will the metal clip kept on scratching the disc and causes uneven plate? Then need to polish again right?

QUOTE(poolcarpet @ Nov 15 2011, 11:02 AM)
hi all,

my iswara kena stone chip on front windscreen... sad.gif anyone happen to know how much is the front laminated windscreen replacement cost? <RM500? want to weigh option whether to just leave the chip as it is or repair it before it grows... (if replace windscreen not too expensive then also no point to repair as it will prob cost RM50-150 for the repair)... thanks all.
*
Is it a crack? They'll count by the size of it. They will drill a hole through and apply some liquid on it and seal it. Then polish off nicely. The pricing you quoted is quite standard. Did you apply rain repellant? Results might not be that good if you had applied rain repellant.

Why not claim insurance? Wait for sifu's to reply about insurance...

Same happened here. Get a few pages back you can see my picture about it.
Some of users said that its from the rear light assembly area, but mine was well dry for that area...
For my case, I just found out yesterday, it's from the number plate assembly that whole part. The rubber seemed to give way dy. Now everyday rain, I everyday wipe leh, like I become her dayang pula...

Btw all sifu, now i'm going to take out the plastic cover for my rear bonnet. So basically I will gotta break a lot of clips to get access to the leaking area... So any idea where can buy the exact same one? Even proton parts centre also not selling... I think need to buy at least 20+ clips to replace for this and tukar all other damaged ones together.

This type of clip:

Before you do, go buy a pack of those screw-clips from spare part shop. I can't remember how much but definitely not rm2 or even rm1 each. There are otal of 9 to 10 clips if i'm not wrong.

Also get some bitumen strips or some sticker to seal the holes on the metal body ofth car, water could be seeping in from there.

Wow, I am liking my new distributor cap and rotor arm! I had no idea how badly worn the old one was, when starting previously sometimes need to crank 3-4 secs. Now it fires up on first turn in 1 second. If the reason for cranking 3-4 secs is because there is insufficient spark then I suppose this new cap will definitely give me better FC over the 10km/l I've been getting. Gonna pump full tank, reset meter and check smile.gif

Next up to change the spark plug cables... then it will be almost all new ignition path, and time to visit uncle fred to get some tuning done smile.gif

Curious, ada warranty?

My car 27k km but gotta crank quite long to start... Is about 2-3sec to start... And its slightly longer than family waja still... My friend say ppl crank 1 sec start dy... Is it so fast time to change distributor dy?
