Hmm, there must be a mistake somewhere. Lemme get the thing back from my colleague and do a retest. I coulda sworn I selected Removable Disk from the drop menu... blush.gif

When running the test did your thumb drive LED flashing? AFAIK the fastest thumb drive nowadays can go 25MB/s. It's impossible that a USB 1.1 can get 31MB/s sweat.gif

hey guys .. js wanna ask you :
whether when we wanna remove the pendrive/thumbdrives.. do we need to go to windows n click the "safely remove hardware" icon for the USB ? as in before we unplugged the drives ? js wondering ... coz some ppl told me MUST to prevent damage.. then some said dun need as in it's plug n play ?

so a bit confused here..

OK, this tip is for WinXP. Could also apply to Win2K, but I don't think can for WinME/9x.

Win XP will "normally" NOT enable write caching for flashdrives; if write caching is on, this is why you need to use the Safely Remove H/W icon. The Safely Remove H/W icon tells Windows to flush the cache and commit (i.e. write) everything to the flashdrive so the user can remove it.

You can tell Windows whether or not to use the write cache: Plug in your drive and start Windows Explorer. Go to My Computer, then right-click on the thumbdrive > Properties > Hardware tab > double-click on yr thumbdrive > Policies tab. The options there are slef-explanatory...
