Hi guys,

I'm currently looking for a good pendrive.

I want to purchase either a 32GB or 64GB pendrive, it must be USB 3.0.

I had eyes on the Kingston Data Traveler Ultimate G2 USB3 32GB but it was a bit too costly for me and I couldn't find that specific pendrive in LowYat @_@

My budget is RM80-200 for a 32GB while RM120-250 for a 64GB.

Any recommendations and advice?

Thanks wink.gif

Hmm, H2testw result of 84MB/s read speed is not correct. In actual test I transfer files in total of 17.5GB at 150 seconds, which is about 116MB/s speed.
Sequential Read from USB Stick. Files are combination of 100-150MB size.

Crystaldiskmark or HDTune result although is "best possible speed", it is closer to the actual test result.

_____________________________

Another test with single big file. Reading from USB stick writing to NAS. 57.8GB in about 487 seconds. Average speed is 118.7 MB/s.

Ouch 1 hardisk has failed and the NAS in degraded mode T_T

For Write Speed test, it takes about 770 seconds. Average speed is 75 MB/s. This is higher than H2testw result of 61.1 MB/s too.

Wow that's BIG balls brows.gif , oops i mean big bowl of lohmaikai thumbup.gif

New or used? If new then really worth it. Let aside the speed, the space is truely worth the money.

48Gb is not very odd, if 40Gb then maybe.

The speed is quite slow, if you can live with that speed than good enough.

Good if want to keep daily use file like a flac/mp3 but not recommended if want to keep copying/deleting a new file everyday.

Kingston DataTraveler HyperX 3.0 225MB/s
By Hilbert Hagedoorn, November 18, 2011 - 9:46 PM

Kingston announced the DataTraveler HyperX 3.0, a new USB 3.0 flash drive that promises read speeds of up to 225MB/s and write speeds of up to 135MB/s. The device has a metal and rubberized casing and is available in capacities of 64GB, 128GB and 256GB.
Kingston Digital, Inc., the Flash memory affiliate of Kingston Technology Company, Inc., the independent world leader in memory products, today announced the Kingston DataTraveler® HyperX® 3.0. The DataTraveler HyperX 3.0 is designed for enthusiasts and gamers, and features the fastest speeds and largest capacities that Kingston has to offer in a USB Flash drive.

Its high-speed eight-channel architecture provides USB 3.0 data transfer rates of up to 225MB/s read and 135MB/s write. Users can save time associated with opening, editing and copying large files and applications between devices. The fast write speeds also allow users to work on large files or applications directly from the USB 3.0 drive without performance lag.

"Enthusiasts have long known HyperX as the memory of choice for overclockers and power users who need the most performance from system memory," said Andrew Ewing, Flash memory business manager, Kingston. "The new DataTraveler HyperX 3.0 USB Flash drive continues this tradition. With the fastest speeds and largest capacity, this storage device is the perfect solution for users who require high performance and carry a lot of data."

The DataTraveler HyperX 3.0 is available in 64GB, 128GB and 256GB capacities. The 256GB capacity can store approximately 10 Blu-ray Discs™ (25GB each), 54 DVDs (4.7GB each), 48,640 MP3s (4MB each) or 13,473,684 Microsoft® Word files pages with various formatting and basic graphics.

With a durable and sleek design, the Kingston DataTraveler HyperX 3.0 is a terrific portable storage solution for gamers, enthusiasts, early adopters and high-end consumers who require the best performance and highest capacities to carry their digital library. Faster speeds and higher capacities enable users to quickly store their digital files and keep it with them at all times, in HyperX style.

DataTraveler HyperX 3.0 features a metal and rubberized casing with a reinforced key ring hole for daily use. It allows users to keep it with them at all times, as it can be easily attached to a key ring or lanyard.

DataTraveler HyperX 3.0 is backed by a five-year warranty, 24/7 tech support and legendary Kingston reliability. For more information visit www.kingston.com.
