Naza Kia is gearing up for the launch of the all new Sportage, which is scheduled for next week (21 June). This is the third gen Kia Sportage that made its debut at last year’s Geneva show (view our post and gallery here), and it features the brand’s new design language that has won many fans. This also means that it’s not recognisable as a successor to the current car, which was introduced here in facelift form last April.
The new Sportage will be powered by Hyundai-Kia’s Theta II 2.0-litre petrol engine with Dual CVVT, producing 166 PS and 197 Nm of torque. The transmission is a six-speed automatic with maunal override. These compare well with the the segment leading Honda CR-V’s 150 PS/190 Nm and five-speed auto.
The feature list will include LED day time running lights, a large panoramic sunroof, rear view camera display, dual zone auto air con, Bluetooth, AUX, iPod and USB connectivity as well as a five-star Euro NCAP safety rating. Hope the current generation of Kia's are better than previous which had endless problems. I also know of many Forte owners who are starting to have problems with their gearboxes, etc already. Not the kind of scenario Kia would want to have if they wish to improve their brand image here in Malaysia.

But i would suggest waiting till the Hyundai Avante is launched in less than 2 months time. That car is really doing well and so far it seems to be way better than the Forte. Hope the prices are competitive.

Anyone know where got car to see n test drive ? Definite this sportage is going to flow Malaysia like tsunami  Hahaha

Your SA told you 2 mnths waiting period?  i've waited almost 2 month now (booked during ikano roadshow - mid oct), but SA told me car only will arrive after CNY. if not by mid Feb, i think i might choose other too.. hehehe.. I just tested VW Golf TSI model, seems nice too and now they got special discount (rm13k for Golf TSI).. fuh..
