A friend of mine when to the showroom along the federal highway main showroom. The salesman say there is ready stock for 2011 make, and new stock coming in after march

On the CKD don't know, but i doubt they will do the CKD so fast maybe manager just want you to place booking faster only.

I don't think they sold many cars anyway and korea just can't manufacture fast enough. i dont think korea will do ckd so fast since they are minting money on the sportage

i read the article the figure really look impressive in a market heading into recession or in recession in some parts of the world

Actually if the japs are not carefull they are going to be 2nd to 5th place in mass markets , IN handphone, home electronics anything tech, the koreans overtook the japs and starting to show signs they are doing that with their cars. Not saying koreans are better but they offer better cosmetic and value to their buyers. Even their washing machines has bling bling compared to white .

No regrets getting a korean car now.. Kia service centers improved alot and their customer service is also getting better..my family used to be toyota and honda supporters but now my family has 3 kia's. Forte, Forte Koup, Sportage. NO regrets at all! Drives better than japs, feels solid and safe, looks cool.. the rest u must own it to experience the power of kimchi  rclxms.gif

my sportage just went for 10k service, RM250+. Any normal service will be less than RM300. It's the same as jap charges.. might be even cheaper  smile.gif

Seanoys, where did you go for your car service?
*

that translate to about 8.7km per litre, hmmm...quite far away from PaulTan's test on Tucson which is 11.5km per litre...
*
just for city driving and with about 70% jam conditions
for the size and weight i would say good already

and most important if you can afford this size of car, petrol is nothing
so i am not so fussy about mileage
plus its gives better mileage than my optra

average 9.0/l - 10.5/l. RM90 full tank can go about 450km. I heard changing the air filter will improve fuel consumption.. but not changing it now for the moment.. and i always bring to KIA Glenmerie

that sounds about right for us.

They have club? i might include Forte members as well
*
Maybe before doing a TT
like have a roll call of how many sportage users before preceding
Like a list of users
1. Sam Sam- Techno Orange

Sportage users just copy the list and fill up your nick and color

my deal was done by aziz but he hard a heart bypass and hafiz took over
Even with all the fiasco of the heart bypass and early delivery we got the card nicely before raya
Hafiz fought for the car allocation i guess, we ordered first week of july
technically the car was ready middle of august but we were in Krabi.

also because we wanted before raya, hafiz went to Puspakom to handle the car transfer twice on friday(last day of jpj registration)
first time we were late and only after lunch everything settle

also we were allocated sand track but did not like the color, hafiz manage to get us techno orange which was something we like very much
Mine you i was chinese, and the practice before raya was to allocate the car to the malay customers first for the raya season

kia sportage is not so suitable for our hot weather. Need to be consistent. During traffic jam can feel the car getting hotter. this is with a good tint already. BUt i think they did this to conserve fuel

To our fellow kia sportage users if you are in KL and would like to get the firestorm alternator booster the seller is coming down this friday 16th march. You can get in touch with him if you need to do a demo or purchase a unit

Kia showroom has no Sportage for test drive...anyone can tell me is Sportage also underpower like Tucson 2.0 ?
*
same engine and gearbox but i think sportage is slightly heavier as it is a bigger size body and wider rims, so its a bit less power tan tucson

Oh. Thanks man. Coz the last service, naza recommended syntium 3000(5w-40) and pour the whole 5 litre into it. Noticed that the car feels heavier also fuel consumption worsen. I think they overpour already. Or syntium is not so compatible. Coz i thought normally for 2.0 cars 4 litres sufficient already but they insist by claiming the whole batch of new kia pour 5litres.
*
mine was 4 liter only, the technician at glenmarrie says its only 4 liters. 5 liters perhaps is for 3.0 liter car

First pic i think. Haha. Btw u uses shell lubricant right?  is it good? Any noise frm engine coz 5w-30 sounds quite thin for our climate.

Added on March 20, 2012, 12:39 am

Thats wat i tried to tell the ppl in the sc, haizz. No way 2.0l car gonna take 5l of lubricant. Which model n brand of lubricant did u use? How do u find it?
*
i did mine at glenmarrie so its petronas
should be the same for my next service

For the sportage it would be very advisable to use the best heat rejection tint you can find.

Sportage has 2 flaws which i have experience since using the car for 6months
1) Horn-very soft and not suitable for the car size
2) Aircon
Sportage air-con system not design for malaysia. At low speeds or non moving the aircon reduces in power, and would increase when going faster
its a good system for overseas and to save petrol. However if you are stuck in the middle of kl in the afternoon can be rather hot.

The thing is, when you sent your car to the service centre, the Service Advisor will ask you to remove it....
They will say the SA get some commission from this accessory installation.... while their HQ still don't allow alarm installation....
When you go back to your SA, he will say the HQ already approved the alarm installation....
So how? rclxub.gif
*
then don't put first until this is settle

have to use the manual way of steering lock

Agreed.. The shop keep calling me for the installation, i will ignore them then.

The warranty is 5 years but sure they will find a way to void it if you cut the wires for the electrical part.

So many issues with problems when you want to install electrical item
6 months ago my SA told me some one fitted Front Camera, did not do correctly fried the cluster meter, spend 20K fix
