FYI, stupid Apple decided that iPad 1 users do not need multitouch gestures, while iPad 2 users should be more important, and thus iPad 2 has multitouch as default! I am talking about non-JB iPads with iOS 5.0.1, mind you!

In order to get multitouch on an iPad 1, you must JB it. Really kanas@i larrr .....

Added on January 2, 2012, 12:14 amI had to check both "Install Cydia" and "Enable multitouch". When I just checked "Enable multitouch" without "Install Cydia", my Cydia can't be opened at all.

FYI, MultiGesture was ported to iPad 1 on iOS 5.0.1(google next time) if you are with the official iOS FW, it's gone after you Jailbreak it with the JB application unless you tick the MT gesture button during the JB process to enable it back on the iOS 5.0.1.

I bought a 2nd hand ipad 1 with some original apps purchased from the previous owner. Question is if i sync / backup with my id then only update to 5.0.1 to jb from 4.3.3 will the apps still available or will itunes delete it because it was purchased with a different id? How to transfer the apps to my id? Thanks

I don't believe you will be able to do that. The syncing depends on your Apple ID.

i assume that u dont have shsh saved since u said u just bought it. if thats the case, no choice. update to 5.0.1 before apple stop signing it since p0sixninja already said, update to 5.0.1 while u can. and wait for 5.0.1 jb come out.

Never reset All Settings on a Jailbroken idevices, just restore your iPad to 5.0.1 through iTunes with the DFU mode and re-jailbreak again.
