Well, I also have some question about the eshop fund. Is the eshop fund is shared between 3ds and wiiu after you redeemed the prepaid card? For example, let say I just topup $50 credit and using $30 for my wiiu, then will the remaining $20 can be used for my 3ds? Or is the fund is strictly only for the console its being redeemed?

Im just asking about this coz Im never using the eshop prepaid card(will buy it later) and think gonna buy

I got mine from lowyat plaza for around rm1300(wind waker bundle). I think the shop is at lvl3 if Im not mistaken.

Well, better to ask how many games on Wiiu that you interested to play. If you got more than 5 games interested to play then I think its worth it.

Btw, the new console will not be released so soon yet. The earliest will be around 2017 I think. The year cycle between Wii(2006) to Wiiu(2012) is 6 years. The wiiu age is only around 3 years for now.

Nope, theres no region lock on the remote. I can confirm this coz I have Wii remote plus from Japan and play it no prob on
my US WiiU
