It is easy to claim waranty from wii u us set? planning to buy on amazon.
*
No apparently it's not so simple, for the WII U US set you need to send to a relative or a friend that you know in the US or Canada because Nintendo of America only does repair service from a local address and not from other country address : /

The reason how I know about it was because I had a WII U that is damaged by a short circuit and it fried my console, in an attempt to try to repair I contacted NOA but this is the reply they gave me here (attached my email) sad.gif

I wish I had bought the 3DS instead of the WII U, looks way better after I read about it lately hmm.gif But now i'm stuck with a useless broken WII U that I can never fix it cry.gif

How did you get it short circuit btw? Did you just plug the adapter without any travel adapter or stepdown converter?
Damn i'm super scared now. I have stepdown but too lazy to use it and always just use a travel adapter instead.
*
Yeah I plugged in a travel adapter, on that day I was updating the console's software via its update option and after around 3 - 4 hours around 2pm I heard the pop sound that usually happens during a short circuit, shortly after that I smell something burned inside the console and I could not turn on the console any more. I have been using the said adapter for over a year and don't have any problems with electricity supply until that day. I feel that I got a defective console because I think Nintendo's well known for their durability of their Gameboy video game handhelds and previous consoles and in this case it isn't and I feel disappointed that I can't get a repair service from Nintendo itself sad.gif

It's not the console's fault. It's the travel adapter's.

Well this is the converter that I used for over a year right until my console burned... bought it from Ace Hardware

I doubt it's this thing's fault cause I played it for over a year and had no problem with it until that day : /

Yup. The infamous EKK. Frankly speaking, 1 in 10,000 is a defective unit. heck, even I recommend it to others to use it when I was selling the WiiU last year (As a SAFER means). That's a stepdown converter.

But of all the 12 people who bought the WiiU from me, 10 used a travel adapter they got from Sri Computers at Lowyat. And all 10 are still ok.

Trust me, it's the converter's fault.

So that means it's pure bad luck that I got a defective converter? damn

No sorry it's not free, the game pad still works properly with the base charger. I'm selling the game pad + charger for RM 200.00. The others including the main console and the accessories and the free game Nintendo land are free.

how did ur wii u short circuit? lightning strike?
*
no, it wasn't a lightning strike, I remember that day was a sunny day, not a heavy rain day. Could have been the power adapter having problems, or could be the cooling fan fail to work properly and results in overheating and then my console literally spew out some smoke and an awful burnt smell. I still am not too sure what could have happen sad.gif
