U know anyone that can fix it if it dies? 

Guys, I'm getting a US Wii U. I see people reported it works without any adapter.

Any guy here really tried the US Wii U on 220 V for a few days without any issue ? Because if it wasnt dual voltage, it should have fried instantly I think, the same happened with original Wii, and the adapter would melt/smoke instantly.

I google the issue, and it's hard to find any info about it except you guys and some blog on IGN that says it's really 110-240V.

Can confirm dont need transformer plugged it in and played mario and nano assault neo for the last few days avg 3-4 hrs per day without problem. Same goes to my friend's unit.

I tried changing the country to brazil to use my MY cc but i got an error that my country and profile does not match, maybe its cause i link it to club nintendo. But eshop does seems stupid that there is tax.... but as usual change zip code to tax free states such as montana and the tax is gone for it    Seems like a waste of time to me to even have it in the first place....

According to this links, WiiU optical disks are customized blu-ray disks, iDensity; 25GB single layer.
Is there other ways to backup the disk?

Thanks for the replies all.. I didn't know the power brick was universal, guess we don't need a power converter adapter then? sucks cause I'm using one actually.

By the way, here's an update. so I send back my Wii U console back to the retailer I bought from (A video game shop at Wangsa Walk Mall, not gonna specify which one) and the boss in charge there told me they could not fix it as the burn may have damage the CPU unit or it could be something else inside that has burned...    The boss now told me that he would try to get the spare part to fix the damaged part but somehow I feel doubtful that they could fix it and make it work properly again.

So, I'm thinking of doing the hard way to get it fix which is to send my entire console unit and the stuff with it back to Nintendo America, but the problem is I'm not sure if they would repair it as I read somewhere on their websites that says that any if the console is damaged under the use of a travel/power converter adapter the warranty is considered void?? Would it actually be better if I send directly back to them for repairs?

Sigh in worst case scenario I will not be able to play any Wii U games anymore and also my last video game console I ever bought...  (Worst part is wasted money on it for only 9 month's of playing the console and also the games that I bought it)
