QUOTE(sickboy @ Sep 7 2014, 12:55 AM) Think of getting a 3dsxl, mana tau announced New 3ds next year. So cancel plan I am not sure if Wii U is better than 3DS for you. That one you have to decide. Then i think of WiiU. Guys, If i only have time and effort for one console, is Wii u better than 3ds, and suffice for its list of games. Dunno why i just couldnt conclude myself wif a Ps4 or xbox one although they look charming. But we can discuss la base on your preference. How many hours do you have time to play daily? What type of games are you interested in? More additional info needed, so we can know which one is better for you. |

QUOTE(sickboy @ Sep 7 2014, 01:15 AM) Lol cant even sure how many hours i would have for gaming if i buy it. Having stepped away from gaming quite many years ad and into my 30 of age this year. If you plan on local multiplayer Wii U is the best when it comes to that. Can even say it's better than PS4/Xbone as well Well, i liked fps, shooters and action when i was active gaming back then but even that, i think i no longer fancy them and will not go back xbox and wait for Halo 5. I sorted out some list of wii u and 3ds games, i would say i can forgo japanese rpgs which are alot on 3ds. I still enjoy looking at platformers titles and zelda im still a fan having played gba and ndsl zelda b4. Hmm. Imo if Wii U future dev and upcoming game list is promising, it will do me well enough and can play along with my wife too. All the Wii U titles are really good and well polished, you can't go wrong with any of the Nintendo first party games. They are just awesome for me. If you don't mind in the number of game libraries the Wii U have, then go for it 3DS has a lot of libraries of games but if you wanna play some games with your wife it's not gonna be good Both 3DS and Wii U are really good and choosing any of them wouldn't be bad in anyway IMO. The amount of hours I ask was because if you are super hardcore, there might not be enough games for you on the Wii U. But I could say that Mario Kart 8, and soon the come Smash Bros. will keep you occupied for a long time. Games like Wii Sports Club, Nintendoland, Wii Fit U is gonna be awesome for your family. As well as local multiplayer like Super Mario 3D World, Mario Bros., MK8 and Smash. Wii U would fit the family picture well. But if you gaming alone 3DS is also good with huge libraries to consider. I let you decide |

QUOTE(sickboy @ Sep 7 2014, 10:59 AM) Thanks much for the help, Rei Good good. Any choice is good anyway so you can't go wrong.Decided to get a Wii U. Now just need to see which package to get or wait for Hyrule Warrior / Bayonetta 2 first. Checked out Nintendo at E3 2014. The only thing set me back is still support from 3 party games. And as I read somewhere, after Watch Dogs (which doesntfix for a release date yet), Wii U will undergo next 1-2 years without 3 party titles, is that true? I remember old Wii used to have considerably enough of 3rd party games. I'm suprised Bayonetta 2 is exclusive for Wii U, I played the first one on X360 and impressed albeit not a DMC player. But I do not think B2 carries much weight in pushing Wii U sales. Nevertheless, if I get a Wii U it's a must buy It's good to see both Wii U and 3DS both offer online multiplayer now. When it comes to local multiplayer, excuse me if i'm too behind of dates, do you mean split screen? I had X360 for longest period, followed up by a little NDSL and then Wii but I never really get started on Wii, so I can definitely go back and catch up more than enough of great titles on Wii, which alot of them helped me to trade my X360 for Wii before. Definitely can't be hardcore player already, but sure miss gaming life you know that feeling right, and hope to have some casual time on it. Those who owns a Wii U mostly doesn't really care that much about 3rd party games though. Because I know most who owns it, usually owns more than 1 console. A PC combo or with a 3DS or PS4 or Vita. Yes 3rd party support are atm to worse i've ever seen. But first party already a lot of games to enjoy, I think it will be fine. Bayonetta 2 exclusive for Wii U because Nintendo help them fund the game. Well I think it helps some get a Wii U. I know some people are gonna get a Wii U because of B2 Most of the games aren't on splitscreen, you play with just one screen with multiple user on it, it's pretty fun really, games like Nintendoland, Mario 3D World, Bros U and Wii U Sports Club, play local multiplater with just one screen. It's really great, and don't forget you can also sometimes play certain games with the gamepad, so there is 2 screens. Also the gamepad provides a different gameplay on gamepad for example on the Bros U and 3D World, those who use the gamepad has something extra, to help those with the normal controllers, whether it's pro controller or wii mote. Pretty awesome, you have to try yourself to believe it If no longer hardcore ok la get a Wii U. Too many games to play this days, no enough time to play them all. So I don't think there will be enough games. You want cheap deals and a good Nintendo dealer? You ask Kyo, he has the best deal for Nintendo games and console. https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showuser=92505 This post has been edited by Rei7: Sep 7 2014, 11:28 AM |

QUOTE(D.Sync @ Sep 19 2014, 04:03 PM) Purchased my first ever Nintendo home console from Pbbseller yesterday and received it today! Really surprise for the fast shipment! Took some time seeking for confirmation that the power adapter actually support multi-voltage even though it is labelled 120V. Another thing I noticed is the power adapter is to humongous! It is definitely the largest adapter I ever saw among the consoles (handheld or home) that I owned. Among the games I purchased are Mario Kart 8, The Legend of Zelda - The Wind Waker HD, Super Mario 3D World, and Super Mario Bros that came with the bundle. Awesome! Enjoy it! Being a Nintendo 3DS owner for quite some time now, I am very pleased with the neat and simple interface and glad they streamlined it across their game consoles. Kudos for that! This is contrast with PS4 interface which for me, looks quite typical for its modern theme. Did I say I like Nintendo fonts very much? When I look at the photo again, I can't help but noticed that the aesthetic of Nintendo games are so bright and colorful! » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « It's the most used console for me last year, and this year. If you haven't played any previous Wii games before then you can play on it as well. I have tons of games to play, and have quite a number of backlogs. Virtual Console is awesome and I can smell Anime Crossing for Wii U soon already Once Hyrule Warriors is out and then Smash, i'll be turning it on again for good. Taking a break on Mario Kart 8 right now. Too much racing. Now off to PS4 for some Destiny haha. |

How did I not know about Digital Deluxe Promotion on Wii U? Lol
Just got myself a free 5usd eshop code for having 500+ points. So Nintendo actually have a program to encourage Wii U owner to buy digital games in eShop. Spend 50usd and you'll get 5usd back at ddp.nintendo.com. This only applies to Digital Deluxe Wii U owners and not the Basic Set owners. All points will be counted for Wii U games only. I bet some or most doesn't know about this. Promotion ends this year. |

QUOTE(FatalExe @ Oct 31 2014, 01:54 PM) Thanks! I have a few games now and will buy Bayonetta 2 after finishing them. I import most of them from Amazon, it's very rare and hard to find. Some Wii games I buy from Kyo.Any places to recommend that sell cheap Wii games? Original discs quite hard to find. Thinking of importing used ones from Amazon.. And any place for cheap Wii Remotes? I found some on lelong that is very cheap but scared is those China pirated ones and cannot be used for Wii U.. Wii remotes, if you want it cheap can try hunt for Wii Party U bundle, it includes a remote and the game, quite cheap. I have quite a lot of Wii games collection myself and most of them are new but rare ones got it used. |

QUOTE(deepan84 @ Nov 3 2014, 09:39 AM) Wanna ask, what type of controller do u guys prefer to use on your wii U? I end up using the gamepad most of the time.the Gamepad or the Pro Controller? They small stuff that you can do on the gamepad is good enough for me. Pro Controller don't have that. But for some games without the screen thing, i'll use pro controller. |
