kernel is not a problem i think, just make sure you have the right combination of firmware to let kies detect you and you can already upgrade
speedmod, you can find it at XDA

1. open odin
2. put speedmod kernel into PDA section
3. tick Auto Reboot and F. Reset time
3. untick Repartiton , Dump, Phone EFS Clear, Phone Bootloader Update
4. set your phone to download mode (hold volume down+ home key + power button)

it's here bro.. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1044519

do read the devs log to find out what is the difference between each kernel.. normally the latter will be a fixed to the former and maybe just a minor upgrade..

definitely yes. actually if u look into that kernel it's a JVH kernel which is a 2.3.3 kernel.. we can use it with version 2.3.4 as it's compatible (as stated by the devs)

how to do the conversion?
