QUOTE(ic3joker @ Jun 24 2011, 01:33 AM) love the new lockscreen.... oh my... sexy~ XDthe only problem i face is still minor batt drain... can last me for a day... Added on June 24, 2011, 1:40 am QUOTE(lOrDjAbU @ Jun 24 2011, 01:36 AM) there are two official version. ic...miui.us (US dev) miui android (UK dev) and then, Galnet v1 and MCG v6/7. so i'm right if I say MIUI is fragmented as far as i know both us and uk version are the same just the language... MCG is the ancestor for Galnet MCG is actually the first to port MIUI into SGS and when mambo left, Galnet took over and renamed it MCG, Galnet v1 is just a new name i suppose correct me if i'm wrong This post has been edited by CrossX: Jun 24 2011, 01:40 AM |

QUOTE(lOrDjAbU @ Jun 25 2011, 04:47 AM) scrolling between homescreen doesn't lag, but isn't smooth. low frame per second, to be more precise. i tested the 720p recording, 30fps, smooth like samsung stock.camera i think quite ok. i haven't test 720p recording yet. maybe later. QUOTE(nasrulbond @ Jun 25 2011, 04:58 AM) ahh, i see. so what version are you now? i'm looking over the galnet version rather than those us build one. kinda poison juga to me somehow not sure whether titanium backup from froyo to miui will work or not, nvr try XD hehe |

CM7 users out there mind telling me more about CM7?
interested in trying but other than being fast whats good in CM7? battery drain still an issue in CM7? which kernel is better? in terms of batt and performance, i wanna try looking for a balance since most of the time i'm outside and the extra juice really does matter |

QUOTE(kmrdeva @ Jun 27 2011, 07:15 PM) The CM site says, 'CyanogenMod is an aftermarket firmware for a number of cell phones based on the open-source Android operating system. It offers features not found in the official Android based firmwares of vendors of these cell phones.' Meaning no Samsung Touchwiz framework (whatever that runs on SGS stock ROM and needs Touchwiz will not run in CM), zero lag and speedy operation. I am not sure what you mean by what's good in CM7 - for me the sheer speed is the biggest pleasure factor. Not having Touchwiz at all is another plus factor. Getting (almost) nightly updates with new fixes, sometimes problems too gives the shiokness that no Samsung-based custom ROM can give. seriously, no way of getting the battery to last for at least a day?CM7 also has some additional cool features - read up at http://www.cyanogenmod.com/. Very hard to really explain in detail, try it if you dare If you absolutely need 'extra juice' as you mentioned, then don't use CM7. On the standard 1500mAh battery, I could barely get 10-12 hours of standby+usage time. With my bigger battery now, 18-22 hours is no problem. |

QUOTE(kmrdeva @ Jun 27 2011, 07:33 PM) A day as in 24 hours? Hmm, can't say for sure, everyone of us has different usage patterns, different apps etc. i dun have a data plan for my phone so i guess 2G works for me good enuf...Maybe if you change to 2G only or turn your 3G on only when you need it? As for me, I am a lazy fella, my 3G, BT, GPS and WIFI are all always enabled. seldom use BT, GPS always on but as far as i know the toggle on doesnt mean its on, GPS is on when necessary wifi on when necessary only... anyways i'm flashing cm7 now... i downloaded both platypus and glitch v10c... so gonna try later |
