Wii 2 will feature a new type of controller that includes a touch screen. The controller will give tablet-like controls to games, tapping the touch panel to control the characters on your television, for instance. The controller can also be used as a portable game machine.
The touch panel on the controller is six inches. The controller itself has a built in rechargeable battery and includes a camera. The camera can be used for a variety of play opportunities -- for instance, a player making an avatar of himself for use in a game.
Microsoft this year sucked. Nothing original worth getting excited over. Playing safe did work though.
Sony won in terms of hyping for PS Vita. But nothing much flare going for PS3, except a 24 inch 3D monitor to be sold at Sony stores soon. Expect it to be RM 2k here.
Now all eyes are on Nintendo.
Better start pumping news on Project Cafe and the damned support on 3DS. It is really failing.
-new console with HD graphics, HDD support and next-gen capabilities -new console with innovative/unique gaming experience (once again) -a whole new online network experience (like PSN / Xbox Live) -strong 3rd party games support -more AAA 1st party games
cant wait!

Have to say this. After watching all 3 major players conferences, Nintendo has the best of all. They didnt fare too well last year and the year before that but then this year they really nailed it with the titles on the 3DS and the release of WiiU.
Btw WiiU wont be released after E3 next year right?!
Show console yes, but they're tiptoeing around what the system is capable of. Sure EA is on board and all, as well as the big-hitters like Tekken, Ninja Gaiden , but I wanna know the jump between current Wii hard and this new proto.
I've never seen a gaming company basing its conference based around a new controller. Why is Nintendo so scared to present the specs of the new console?
They've announce Arkham City on the new console, which generated the most applause during the video trailer, but no media on that whatsoever. The rest you can expect already how it would look, but Zelda HD looks pretty. If only they show how Arkham City would look, then we can draw the comparison between what the new console is capable of compared to the current PC/PS3/XB360 version looking like, highest to lowest in that order.
WiiU is not meant for standalone, that means your WiiU new console needs to be turned on in order to interact/multiplayer with your 3DS. Reggie mentioned that it is not there as another portable standalone system.

certainly game developed wont comment just base on the controller... but since the console still at the beginning stage, here is not much of point to show it now...

of course not......ninnendo just want to make "plugin to TV" as optional choice right now LOL

Personally, all I see Nintendo dangling are possibilities, with that new controller. IF you wanna get the hardcore folks back in, you gotta do the traditional way: the specs. I was glued to the screen, and at one spurted WTF! when I saw the video trailers of the games for the new console, but we all know how trailers can simply hype up the game, the end result of the game may or may not be according to how the trailer looks.
C'mon man, I was expecting a new console, and all I got is a new controller. WTF!
They're trying to be innovative, where you can play console games without a TV...we'll see what happens next year. But them not revealing details of the new console makes me saaaaad. *goes to bed*
I still need to get myself a 3DS. La la la~

Then don't show. I also don't want to see half-completed hardware with wires dangling all over and all. All I wanna know is its capabilities which in turn , the rough specs. You don't have to show hardware if you just wanna announce the specs. They were hyping up the return of the hardcore back to their game console as their departure with the Wii, but all they got to attract them is the controller? The rest of the interviews with the developers are just simply their take on the new console, which may or may not be what expectations the hardcores have in their mind.

All three console maker conferences this year is disappointing, and I'm not getting any excitement from the Apple side either. Either I'm growing jaded, or everyone is playing cautiously.
with the controller look like a new portable system i thinks the console will cost more than 2k which i believed it will be a big turn off for ppl like me which dont like to spend too much on console and hopefully the pricing does not scare ppl off....anyway i dont thinks the controller is suitable for fps which imho is too big

more like cautiously...
as for ninnendo, they don't want to kill 3ds sales by announcing new console. ppl will plan to buy Wii U more than 3ds if it scheduled to release this year...

me and my bro agree that
1) its big and heavy 2) hand will cramp if hold for too long 3) we cannot imagine play Smash Bros Brawl using the new controller 4) if move around...then dropped the controller....WAHAHHA
A new console introduction will not kill a portable, it's two different category altogether. You dont see Wii sales cannibalizing the DS sale in any way. Plus, they've basically announced it, albeit indirectly, that it will be on the new console. Watch the conference carefully. The problem is, they're basing it around the controller, NOT the console itself. As if they've no faith in the specs of the console itself. Let the gamers be the judge lah.

I think there will be a wrist hand string attached to the controller
Sigh.....it's like everyone is spying on everyone to get the leg-up on each other. Why cant they just stick with a specsheet and trust your collective developers to produce for you?

the controller is not convince me enough to buy the wiiu unless price is less than rm1.5k then might consider also the graphic which i dont thinks it will have big update over ps3 or xbox360 which currently is quite good already for console.
Watch the game footage trailer of Wii U. If that Zelda HD fits into that 6.2" screen of the controller, it's possibly not even Full HD.
yep the controller screen i can say will not even come close to pspvita...which make me wonder why nintendo make so big controller as i dont thinks it will attract hardcore gamer..
