The general consensus is no, as there are many who can swipe overseas without informing the bank.

However, I would always recommend to make a local call to CS before you fly off to notify them. It is always better in case your overseas transactions are declined. Or worse, you want to check out from hotel and stuck, while you are rushing for an important meeting or flight home. Then you have to make international roaming calls back to MY CC-banks. Can you imagine the stress, costs, extra time, etc. as compared to a simple local call ?

Received a missed PosLaju notice before Raya. I guess it is those pre-approved CC again Therefore, not bother to pick it up myself, waste petrol and time. So, I called and they say send after Raya

So, yesterday finally received it, quite heavy, slightly bigger that mooncake box size.


Unwrapping process:

Yes, it is better to spend 30 sen call here to inform the CC issuers. Rather than you worry, sweat, stress, etc. when paying at counter or check out hotel (to rush for flight home) when your CC swipe is declined.

Also, ensure more than enough CL available, or else you may want to clear up some not-due payments first.

I requested once with MBB for super urgent and escalate up, within 2 hours replied, rejected.
That's where I've to split payment, and the 2nd payment falls on 1st April, which hit the iPad2 jackpot for me
If approved, I would have swipe that full amount in late March and missed the gift.

Lodge a case/complain with MBB, on double/triple deduction.
Keep all the receipts, write down all the telephone communications (who, date, time, subject), keep all the emails, etc.

Previously I had double deduction from Coffee Bean using Citibank. It was resolved when Citibank took out the duplicate transaction.
