i was using magnus, it's not bad, just for fun flash to 1.5, i feel like prime is smoother then magnus.. maybe it's just me lar  biggrin.gif
actually it's just using some of the 8.4.4.7 firmware feature add on, basically a mix of 8.4.4.5 and 8.4.4.7, and by default apply the ad-hoc wifi patch, along with some other minor feature additions.. if u already have those don bother lol...

what about kernal? what kernal u using? i now using clemsyn v15, i tried the super elite kernal before, went restart when i try run big bang racing when i push to 1.7Ghz... last night wasnt free to try again, maybe tonight i try again with v16
*
oic, then no point go 1.5 yet lar .. hahaha
as for kernel, me still using stock, seems like no need to OC yet so yeah .. see how long the stock speed can last me ahaha

OK let's not consider rooting since I am a newbie at Android. I want to avoid it as much as possible.

So, what about tethering via Bluetooth? I can pair the device with a Blackberry bluetooth but not sure how to let the Transformer access Internet. Any tips?
*
rooting doesn't take into account if you are newbie or not cuz it is made very simple nowadays, but its your choice smile.gif , just go read about 'nvflash + transformer' for a bit of confident boost wink.gif

TF does support Bluetooth tethering with compatible device, you can go ahead and try with your BB. Pair them up and check out the internet settings in the TF's BT settings. If successfully done, you will have 2 BT icon at the bottom right of your TF. 1 icon is your normal BT icon when u turn on BT, the other 1 is the BT icon showing its tethering internet.

The Transformer is not mine hence the reason I don't plan of rooting. Plus, the owner of the Transformer is not even tech savvy and I seriously doubt he has time to spend rooting.

Anyway, I tried the BlackBerry connect to Transformer via Bluetooth but somehow cannot get the network running. I can see "paired but not connected".

Under Bluetooth setting on the Transformer, I do not see any additional setting under Profiles.
*
Then probably it is not compatible with your BB. I tried with my other phone, it have a "internet access" profile under the bluetooth settings

Too bad

es fe definitely works as I have it working. my setup is win XP shared out a whole drive and access from es fe by entering the ip\drive and of course enterring my win XP login credentials .

make sure u are pointing to the correct path if you only sharing specific folders

double chked that. still cannot. case sensitive? $sign?
*
yeah should be case sensitive. do u have admin account for your win 7, if have, maybe u put that as your credential at es and try to reach hidden shares such as c$, d$ etc etc

good luck, oh ya make sure your network doesn't have a firewall that is blocking file sharing

Should I decide not to get one now?  That's why I only trust a few brands out there.  However good the product is, brand and customer service is important.  HTC has the same ding dong ding dong experience.

Apple handles this pretty well, even through Maxis.  No ding dong but definately one to one exchange.  Bear in mind that its only during warranty period.  After warranty.....

not entirely true on the Apple/Maxis part. My colleague's Ip4 center button is really not working well, sometimes works sometimes don't. He took it back to Maxis, they acknowledged the button is having problem but they say based on their policy, it cannot be claimed unless the button is not working 100% of the time.

The ipad charger should work (the wall plug) but you still are dependent on the asus proprietary cable tongue.gif

The awake part doesn't tell the story cuz u can have the 'system' awake, but the screen is still OFF.

The screen ON indicator would be more relevant in this scenario.
