this is weird  . my usbs like my  pen drives and all can't fit  ? do reply =S
*
is it because the thumb drive is too big/fat? I think its possible if it is too big/fat then it might not fit but actually i dont see why not although my pendrives are all the slim type. could you take a picture and show us whats the problem?

just curious... isn't Google Earth similar to Google Maps? smile.gif

i never bothered to install it. i installed Google Sky though... i think there's also one for moon and one for the human body. smile.gif
*
Its different actually because google earth is like those globe you used to use when you were young in primary/secondary school, you get to hold the entire world in your hands..in way...

The country i mean is china and hk,especially in china forums the a500 get high rating than tf101,but taiwanese comment is similar with here.

suggest u try out both device and choose which one you prefer, no point reading reviews on which one better. you need to choose which one suits your needs. not to mention that reviews are often biased. for example if the reviewer doesnt need the dock, definitely the reviewer will prefer the iconia because it has usb ports on it. but if the other way around, surely the reviewer will choose tf101..so there you go. only you know which one is right for you. good luck smile.gif

hi cyber.. old thread but have you tried Volume+, I tested it , it works but sometimes I need to deactivate and activate again...

careful though.. it could clip the speaker really hard...
*
i'm not rooted yet, but yeah i know about the volume+ mod. I prefer if asus can release their own official implementation to boost up the sound. Right now only earphones sound alright. For speakers it doesnt sound good especially if your videos are soft..for games its ok.

owh. thanks for the info. but its also says that 3g optional? what does it means?
*
optional means not necessary to buy 3g version lar..3g version due out later this year but from what i read is that it will replace the microsd card slot for the sim card, so you will lose microsd functionality with the 3g version (which is lame). if you got an android phone you can just tether the connection. i've done it many times and it works flawlessly.

if the microsd card slot is gone, i wonder how are we going to do custom OS upgrade, root, flash custom rom or do nandroid backup. As you know, the system won't detect the upgrade file in other media except the microsd only.
*
i also wonder..only asus knows..haha

Thanks bro......

Just curious to know the advantages and disadvantages to root our device.

Added on July 4, 2011, 4:36 pm

I downloaded the same but doesn't seem to work...
*
To put it simply, if you root you can do backups of your apps, you can install custom roms (essentially enhanced version of your firmware) and other stuff that you're normally not able to do. take it like you have full access to your internal filesystem where you can tinker as you wish. If you dont have root you cant tinker with the internal filesystem. The bad side of root is that if you dont know what you're doing, you can basically kill or destroy your device (also known as "brick" your device). However the chances are somewhat slim nowadays unless you really scr*w up badly..if you're still new I advice to google and read up first before attempting. it is not for the faint of heart especially when things go wrong.

what is the maximum capacity for the micro sd ?
*
at the moment 32GB but i think quite hard to find 32GB one and its quite costly. 16GB already between 100 - 200 RM

Can we store the application and games into the micro sd? Or just media files?

Will the warranty void if the device has been rooted?
*
you can store any type of file on the microsd. for application and games it will go to your 16gb internal storage. Dont worry, its not that easy to use up. at least not yet tongue.gif

For rooting yes officially warranty will be void but when you want to send to warranty you can just unroot. take note that if something goes wrong with the rooting process or you mess up some stuff then try to get warranty you wont be able to claim.

Currently my device has been occupied with more than 10gb which consist of song and video. Thus, this has caused the very slow when boot up the unit.
*
what you can do is move the videos to your microsd then. not sure if the stock player can pick up the videos or songs, you should try 3rd party players such as moboplayer for videos and winamp for music.
