QUOTE(db07mufan @ Jul 15 2011, 09:36 PM) thanks, but gross salary is > 2800RM, do i have to tell my employer to minus PCB? or will they do it auto for us! it's best that you check whether or not there is an entry in your payslip for PCB. i've had an experience where my employer did not deduct PCB for me for almost 1/2 year until i realised and had to inform HR to make sure that they did it. Next payslip, PCB started getting deducted as per normal....thanks fro for the reply, really appreciate it |

QUOTE(cute_boboi @ Jul 19 2011, 10:49 AM) Dude and the rest of readers, +1(1) Ignorance is not bliss. A lot of friends, family, relatives, b/f, g/f, neighbour, LYN trollers, enemies, dog/cat, devil, etc. tell you when your salary is below 30k/year or 2k per year or 2.5k per year or whatever cr@p, you DO NOT need to declare income tax, since your are NOT taxable. -> This is not true. As long as you have income, even RM500 per month, you ought to declare it for proper filing purpose. The end result is, it is not taxable only. If it is taxable, then it is your responsibility to pay it. (2) Keep all the receipts for 7 years. It is your responsibility to keep it properly, in case of audit. If you lost it, then you have to request the receipts again from relevant sources, like insurance, etc. Otherwise, you will need to take it out from your deductions if you get audit. If you do not have the receipt, DO NOT put it into submission. If the amount does not reach maximum allowed, e.g. Book @RM1k, just put the exact amount you got as per receipt, e.g. RM150. DO NOT CHEAT, as if you get audited, like the case above, kantoi !!! You can evade all other things in life, except Death and Tax. also, if you have not submitted your tax for previous years, i would recommend that you do so ASAP. the first year i started working i didn't submit, so i submitted the year after that. the longer you ignore, the bigger the consequences. |

and yes, just to add, for those doing sales or receive pay with high allowances, make sure that you clarify what falls under taxable and non-taxable income. my sister kena fined by IRB because they said she underdeclared her salary.

QUOTE(Nidz @ Aug 1 2011, 03:15 PM) im not sure about the PCB, but they asked me to open an account first, which i did (e-filing). so now that you have e-filing, check with your HR about PCB deductions. if they provide PCB deductions, basically, the company will help you to automatically deduct the taxable amount from your monthly salary. PCB deductions will be shown in your payslip.so, do i have to do PCB or i just can submit my file manually every April? then when you fill in your income tax via e-filing next year, get the EA form from your company which will show you how much they have deducted from your salary for PCB. if they have deducted more than necessary, you will get a cheque or direct bank in from the LHDN after you file in your income tax. if not, you'll have to pay the difference. hope this helps! =) |

i got a letter from LHDN asking me to provide salinan asal of some documents and all that. this came from the kg. attap branch. i got 2 problems: 1. the phone number provided in the letterhead i.e. 03-22633600 doesn't seem to have anyone answering it. does anyone have another number where a human will pick up the line? 2. they said that i have to produce proof of those documents within 30 days of the letter. the problem is, the letter is dated 21 Oct, but the letter was posted 29 Nov!!! Even by the time I got the letter, it was already past the due date. anyone gone through this issue before? will appreciate all help. thanks! |

sigh, our gomen must be darn broke. first they alleged that i didn't declare everything and said that unless i can furnish the documents of my house loan, and my EA form, they will charge me extra (can't remember how much but it was a few hundred RM).
i called them up, scanned copies of the all documents and sent it to them last month. i just got another mail from them now asking for my documents for 2005, 2006, and 2008.... what the heck man.... |

QUOTE(cute_boboi @ Feb 28 2012, 04:50 PM) Congrats. They are starting to audit you. there are 2 things that i'm irritated about:Anyway, if all your past 7 years docs are in order, there is nothing to worry. If there are fake deductions or no proof or i-dont-know submissions ... kantoi 1. they should've just asked me for all the documents one shot, rather than ask for last year's one, then after i provide all the documents, then ask for some more. it's like they can't find anything wrong, so now they want to dig up further hoping that i can't prove it. 2. they're asking me to get my employers to sign on the EA forms. the documents they're asking for is 6 years ago, 5 years ago and 3 years ago, which means i have to go to my former employers and get them to sign???? sheesh.... |

if you were to declare "PENDAPATAN TAHUN KEBELAKANGAN YANG BELUM DILAPORKAN" in your current income tax form, does that amount get calculation into your tax payment?
