Hi LYN,
Based on link here:
http://www.hasil.gov.my/pdf/pdfam/Spesifik...Berkomputer.pdf
Traveling allowance can be relief if exceed 6k.
But i don't see any way I can enter the amount on the e-filing page?

"Petrol  card,  petrol  allowance,  travelling  allowance  or  toll  payment  or  any  of  its
combination for official duties. If the amount received exceeds RM6,000 a year, the
employee  can  make  a  further  deduction  in  respect  of  the  amount  spent  for  official
duties. Records pertaining to the claim for official duties and the exempted amount
must be kept for a period of 7 years for audit purpose."

No need to put and make sure that your HR put this amount under BIK section in EA form.

Need to dig the details for confirmation.

Thanks for the reply.
My HR has declared my travel allowance under Section B.
And the Section G  (Jumlah Elaun / Perkuisit / Pemberian / Manfaat Yang Dikecualikan Cukai) is empty.
Can I safely say that my HR has not completely declare my travel allowance accurately?
*
You may argue with HR and ask for clarification.

Maybe HR has its own reason or it's purely was a mistake.

My EA form aldy got section B n G. That's means i don't have to enter the exceed amount? I just enter the gross income from my EA form. Or should i take Gross income from EA form n minus the exceed amount?
*
Gross amount without minusing section G BIK.

Hi all,

Would like to check on whether I will be able to claim for my 3G which is under a subsidiary line. Meaning the principal line is under another name while mine is the sub line.

Appreciate any reply.

Thanks!
*
The billing goes to whose name? Principal or Supplementary? The key point is on the billing which is proof.

hi there

i need some help here

i'm a car sales agent, i do have my EA form provided by the company. however my income is not as much as it declare in my EA form as most of the income (commission) has been discounted to my client.

which colume should i declare for my discount to the client?

by the way since i'm earning basic and commision, i should go for the e-be or e-b?

thanks
*
Even though it's discounted but you need to fill according to the EA form.

Since you don't have business income, you have to fill for e-BE.

You have roughly one week to submit your filing. Act fast!

Thank You So much for the informations! rclxms.gif The "less 9k personal " is personal tax relief? The tax deduction is base on year instead of month ?Why I keep seeing the tax deduction base on the monthly rate in something like this
http://www.hasil.gov.my/goindex.php?kump=5...it=5000&sequ=11 . I did'nt saw anything like over 30k would be trigger the tax deduction. Is that means after the latest salary for years sums up, the tax deduction rate would be take into account if the total is over 30k?
*
The amount 9k is annual amount.

The monthly PCB deduction from your salary is just an estimation. It depends on whether your company is using old or new PCB table. For more details, you should clarify with your company HR.

Ultimately, everything will be lumped together and calculated in annual basis.

Did the letter mention which clause are you being audited?

Worst case: 10x of the tax difference.

That page is useless. Do you remember which item you overclaimed?

I'm kind of surprised. I thought the system has closed for filing since May 2013.

err means big chance to kena audit if put 10k max?  sweat.gif  how do we know how much interest is paid in that particular year? bank will send a statement?

and 1 more thing, the total chargeable income for the particular year is after deducting the EPF contribution (nett salary received) or before deducting EPF?

a) monthly salary 5k, the total chargeable is 60k pa?

or

b) monthly salary 5k, but after epf is 4k+, so total chargeable is 50k?
*
You must get the annual loan statement summary in order to know much interest that you have paid. Remember that the relief is only meant for interest paid not the total repayment amount.

Chargeable income == gross income + other incomes - donation/gifts - relieves (including EPF relief) - rebate (zakat and etc.)

hi David, understood on the chargeable income calculation.

but im confused whether this 'gross income' is before EPF deduction or after EPF deduction?

in salary slip , lets say salary is 5k. after deduct epf become 4.5k, so this gross income = 4.5k x 12 months?
*
Didn't you company prepare a EA form/statement to you.

Gross income is the income without ANY deduction; meaning, before EPF deduction.

Taxable income will minus any relief including EPF contribution.

If you put a deducted number into the GROSS income field and put EPF relief later under the Relieves section, you'll be doing duplicate deduction - deduction on top of deduction.

When doing the BE filing, always refer to EA form for guidance. Gross income should include your monthly fixed income, annual bonus or profit sharing and any taxable allowance although some of them are BIK allowance which is tax exempt and this BIK must be indicated in the EA statement.

does subscribing to e-magazines, e-newspaper buy ebook eligible for tax relief?
*
As long as you have receipt of purchase to prove later when being audited, then it's acceptable.

Whatever you claimed, you must have receipt or statement to prove. The documents must be retained for a min period of 7 years. It's better to save an electronic copy on top of printing out.
