I went to SCB's branch and cancelled it. Hmm...I guess Citibank would rather lose customers than paying for the RM50. They really believe in the benefits they are providing to cardholders are attractive enough. How often do u use the card?
I did not swipe it for the last one year and I had every intention to cancel it. What am I gonna do with the extra 1K points? Use the card and collect up to 10K just to exchange for some measly voucher? I'd rather use other cards that give u instantly more - like cash rebates.

Yeah...I saw that in their before last time as well...but still, I will need to use another 4K before I get another 4K points. See, the "evil" they make u do.
Better I spend this 4K with 5% / 7.5% rebate? Even though I know now they're offering the 25% dining cash back for these two months but, my
monthly food bill does not reach their minimum amount.

On a side note, for F&B industry, usually these are the 2 slowest months in the year if I'm not mistaken. Anyone from F&B industry, correct me if I'm wrong. Thanks.

I used SCB credit card a lot over the last one year, but I will call SCB to tell them i wanna cancel the card as I'm not very keen to pay the RM50 service tax

that is the one of the trick used by citibank shell card. maximum cashback u can get is rm150. that mean u are only allowed to spend up to max rm600 for dinner. BUT u need to spend another rm900 to make it rm1500 in one month and it doesnt giving u any cashback at all.

so it will be 150/1500 = 10% cashback. The extra rm900 which doesnt entitle for cashback that u spent drag down the cashback value

I better convert my 70k points first before asking for card cancellation. Wish me luck that the customer service will offer to waive my GST!!!! 

If spend RM1500 on one dinner bill can get the max rebate of rm150?

I have a question on the 25% Cash-Back on Dining. We need a minimum of expand of RM1500 in a calendar month to get the cash-back, right?! If I do the sms register for this promotion on 18 June 2011, do the transaction before the sms registration will be consider for the RM1500 as well?

To cancel the card, they call the agent or the customer service? The agent or the customer service promised the RM100?

Called SCB yesterday to cancel the business platinum visa. They said they will proceed with the cancellation and the next day they offered me a credit of RM100 but with T&C to use it for another 6mth. Good offer

Abit confuse here. I have succesfully registered on the 1st period (middle June) and I just swiped RM2500 for a non-dining item. So I will be receiving the 25% cashback for all my dinings during the [u]1st and 2nd period as well, i.e. 1 June 2011 - 31 July 2011?
