Why do they practise paying the RM200 to confirm the phone? Does Apple even allow this in the 1st place?

Celcom might've learnt some tricks in how M1 based in Singapore organized their iPhone launch.

Since M1 Singapore is majority owned by Axiata/TM anyway...

I'm only talking in terms of the logistics for Malaysia, they don't bother with a big launch but just try to ensure that more of their outlets have the iphones to be sold. Can't recall for sure but it seems that some subscribers in Singapore put a deposit to pre-book their phones. Something like what celcom is trying to do. The only difference is that they are still keeping us in the dark about their monthly plans.

Talking about the plans would be be off-topic because the telco business plan for Malaysia and Singapore are different. Singapore telcos spend more on phone subsidies to tie up more subscribers compared to Malaysia.

A friend who is currently on Celcom plan for iPhone 4 claims that he has been offered to buy the 4s with about 20% cheaper. This seems to go in line with MW report of Celcom offering lower price to the early birds. Can any current postpaid user confirm this? I'm on prepaid so not in the know

I'm more interested on what kind of package they will give. My bet, it could be a 500MB data range. Not enough even for a casual user like me
