A friend who is currently on Celcom plan for iPhone 4 claims that he has been offered to buy the 4s with about 20% cheaper. This seems to go in line with MW report of Celcom offering lower price to the early birds. Can any current postpaid user confirm this? I'm on prepaid so not in the know

I wonder how much including the upfront payment?

I'm more interested on what kind of package they will give. My bet, it could be a 500MB data range. Not enough even for a casual user like me

Celcom is SUPER SUCKSSS during the launch!! With only 100+ customer we have to wait for hours, in my case 6 hours to complete the whole thing!

Maxis manage hundreds or could be thousand last year with a long wait as well but once you're in, everything is SMOOTH within only 5 minutes I was done. Celcom seriously need to learn from Maxis how to handle customer.

What's more annoying, Celcom allows walk-in to buy the phone as well as outright purchase from the start. I don't mind those that prefer walk-in etc but how come they get a totally another queue and get the phone faster? So what's the purpose of online preorder then? If only I know I don't even have to reg and just straight come during the launch, can get it faster!

STUPID celcom!!!

which outlet?
la bodega?

The one & only..

QUOTE(ericpires @ Dec 16 2011, 09:53 AM)
They never had any experience in handling customers for iphone launches. Before this, they only launched iphone 4 white which was nothing compared to a new launch of a new iphone

Perhaps they did not expect much response since the other 2 telcos also launching at the same time lol smile.gif
*
It's not about expectation, but the system they are using. Last year, Maxis for example only allowed those that has preorder online to get in the line. That means they can accommodate the expected no. of CUSTOMER as well as the exact quantity plus some extra for outright purchase of unit needed. But celcom allow EVERYONE to get it even without preordering! You have to know that the number of customers are not very much yesterday, but it's due to poor management and system they are using everything went super slowww

QUOTE(fizyboy @ Dec 16 2011, 10:09 AM)
So celcom also allows outright purchase?
What about today, still can?
*
Last night yes, today @La Bodega I think those greedy blue monkey still accept it anyway

QUOTE(cytan30 @ Dec 16 2011, 10:22 AM)
I think what he meant is during the launch and not walk-in to blue cube service center.

Well, of course "pay peanuts get monkeys", we all agreed that Celcom is cheaper than Maxis right? LOL

I have to admit that todays business world, Celcom need to be competitive not just the price but customer service also equally important. smile.gif
*
Just by how much exactly is cheaper? If you've done some calculation, there's a trade off between data and minute time for both telcos, so the best plan actually depends on preference. Only Digi fits the bill as the cheapest

Anyone can tell me celcom set iPhone 4s preloaded with which version? Ios5.01, or ios5? Did it have yellowish screen issue also?
*
Celcom one comes with 5.0. Yellow screen issue is hard to figure out as it might be subjective and I don't have any other unit or the previous iP4 to compare

QUOTE(WhatMan @ Dec 16 2011, 11:13 AM)
In Miri you cannot purchase the iPhone 4S. You have to order, and will take 2 weeks to arrive.

No different from ordering Apple Store MY.
*
If you go for outright purchase, better take one from the Store. But if you want it cheaper, telco's is the answer

Can someone confirm these two:

1. I remember someone mentioned TWO years warranty available for the previous iP4 plan. Is there any such thing for the current iP4s if contract is two years?

2. Is Celcom data plan with the current iP4s package unlimited or not? Cause I've been told by a celcom staff that it's unlimited.

QUOTE(tydell @ Jan 5 2012, 05:21 PM)
"I remember someone mentioned" and "I've been told by a celcom staff" is a very very vague statement.
Throughout the years I learned it the hard way not to rely on verbal statement.

If it is not written officialy, there is very limited way for you to know whether it is true or not.

Even if it is written officially by Celcom, on Celcom website, they could still change it. Here is how they do it, they are going to put a very fine print (small letters) at the very bottom this:

"Price packages shown are subject to change"

So even an official written statement can change in time, don't even mention hearsay.
*
That IS the reason I'm asking it here to confirm with those that really in the know. And you're not helping at all by analysing my words rather than giving me a clear answer. The problem with those two issues stemmed from the fact there is NO statement at all in the Celcom website. And I'm shooting out the questions because the celcom rep said:

1. 1 year warranty even for TWO years of contract
2. Unlimited data plan for every packages, but as usual speed will be throttled.

Unless you can give me an answer, don't even bother replying. Not being harsh here but simply I want a DIRECT AND CLEAR answer

QUOTE(Aaron ? @ Jan 6 2012, 12:15 AM)
So , how do I check the current usage status of my plan ?
Example how many call / sms and data I have used .
*
Again, I've pop up the question to the celcom rep and her answer is surprisingly you can only check by calling Celcom Careline! I have received the first bill and it didn't even mention my data usage. So I guess it's safe to say that it's unlimited

QUOTE(teyking2003 @ Jan 6 2012, 07:12 AM)
I've purchased with iPhone and upgrade from exe20, but the shop at bts really take so long to activate the plan

For the data I just install some kind of data monitor software, but not sure for the call n SMS,who else know?
*
If what the celcom rep told me is true, then you don't have to worry about excessive bill due to exceeding data limit. But of course, it's always best checking on your status so it will not be throttled down. BTW, based on my experience, all of the data app is not reliable enough. I simply use iPhone own status to check every month

i use my iphone for 10 days
activated on 23rd december, and my billing is on 3rd Jan
received sms from celcom:

Your current charges is RM438.90.
after deduction from upfront payment, RM300,
total charges is RM138.90

anybody can explain why is it like this?
or experiencing same case?

Don't pay, complain and win

Err..don't you think you should actually check thoroughly the complete billing before in the whole madness going to rumble Celcom without any checking? I've got the same bill and after thorough checking there's nothing wrong with the bill at all.

I'm a new user and the bill includes RM10 for stamp fee, RM 25 for GOVSUCKTAX for the upfront payment that we have paid, in my case RM420 for the 12 months. Look carefully, Celcom doesn't simply add in unnecessary charges
