Y ERL so expensive? RM35 to KLIA. They should reduce the fares, at least for KLIA Transit, make it RM15 and lots of people will use it. In Korea they only charge 3700won for the transit train which is about RM10.
If they charge RM15 I'm sure more ppl will take ERL and YTL will earn more money, no?

If you have spare time to spend, like not rushing to the airport, you first buy a ticket from KL Sentral to Putrajaya first, then at Putrajaya you go out and buy another ticket to KLIA and wait for another train (30 minutes).
Like this you can make a journey to KLIA in just a half price but you have to sacrifice your 30min time.

So troublesome, might as well take the airport coach...after waiting 30 mins end up slower than the bus.

Better for YTL to charge RM15 and have customers, instead of RM35 and no customers... They can still charge RM35 to those richfags which want to take the KLIA express...

QUOTE LCCT passengers also subsidising ERL February 25, 2009
KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 25 – Even passengers using the low cost carrier terminal (LCCT) have been subsidising the Express Rail Link – though the fast rail service between the city centre and Kuala Lumpur International Airport does not serve them.
Ministry of Finance officials told The Malaysian Insider that RM5 from charges that every passenger using the budget terminal pays flows to the rail operator.
This disclosure comes in the wake of a statement in Parliament yesterday that the ERL has been propped up financially since it started operating.
Transport Minister Datuk Ong Tee Keat said that the ERL, which operates the 57km link, has always received compensation from Malaysia Airport Holdings Berhad (MAHB) to make up for poor sales.
The high-speed rail line was built in early 2002 for RM2.8 billion (S$1.2 billion) by YTL Corporation. http://www.themalaysianinsider.com/malaysi...ubsidising-ERL/

I think YTL makes money from KLIA transit la, many people take the train to go to work. Most times the KLIA express is almost empty.

Yes, but that is not for KL Sentral to KLIA, cos they charge at the same rate as KLIA express. They should open up KLIA Transit for KL Sentral to KLIA. I am pretty sure the ERL will have net operational profit if KLIA Transit is charged at RM15 and the rail track is extended to LCCT....I would pay extra for the train service, but not RM35. I used to think that RM35 is cheap and fast.
Now that the trains are old and the seats are dirty and tattered, i think it's a rip-off! Last travel was early May.

it looks/feels luxury what... plus accurate schedule. every 30 minutes will reach the station. so we need to get ready at the time between xx:00 - xx:05 or xx:28 - xx:35. so far i've no prob. planning a quite precise journey if involving ERL or PUTRA LRT. if involving KTM, then we cant get precise journey.

The AREX train is not speed train mah.that's why kenot reach Seoul within 35 min as what ERL can mah haha..The 3700 won is transit & not express if I'm not mistaken..and the last time I took from Incheon till Gimpo airport also already more than 40min. few stops.
