That's a really sweet axe man. Should be around RM2.5k i think. If only it had 24 frets, it would be the ULTIMATE guitar (no pun intended in relation to UG). LOL.

22 frets have better articulation and harmonics and resonance because the octave harmonic is placed directly in the centre pickup(if you have a middle single coil pickup) or just in the centre where you pick thus allowing for a richer tone and easier to pull of harmonics both artificial or natural
also note that guitars have to be made to a particular set scale. . . if 24 frets the body have to be smaller etc etc. . . many factors to be put into the building of the guitar. . . lack of wood/ proper wood balance etc etc This post has been edited by Equilibrium777: Jul 4 2007, 11:21 PM |

^ yea, it's not as simple as just chucking a 24 fret neck in there. They could put a 24 fret neck on the S series, but they would have to move the bridge a tad closer to keep the same scale length.
There is reason to be hopeful though. Ibanez is currently working with Herman Li on creating a new S series guitar with 24 frets and all, built to his specifications. Should be out around the beginning of next year. Lets just keep our fingers crossed and hope it doesn't cost a gazzillion dollars when it comes out. |
