Does Intel HD3000 even cover Blu-ray and full HD without any jerky when jumping the time of vid or fast forward?

Ps: was comparing do i really need to get discrete GPU(ATI 6470m) due to there will be leading higher heat(i assume, fix me if i am wrong), much more expensive like 170Myr, and battery life will shorten..

Even blu-ray?

Anyway sifus, is it true that even just watching movie, but a ATI discrete GPU is clocking higher than Intel HD3000 and causing higher heat? Or it doesn't matter unless is heavy loading such as for gaming, only it will heat up?

i using dell 15r HD3000. yes,, 1080 mkv no problem at all.
now saving money for 24" 3D LCD and usb bluray drive.

about gaming, i now seldom play online game,, but i test the ran online,, no lag at all 1024x768.

ya better gpu... better heat result... thats for gaming.. HD3000 enuf watch movie and play lite games..

ooo thanks guuys, keep wondering about Blu-ray thing since after years it will be very normal standard to consumer.. scared HD3000 will have jerky when watching blu-ray.. will it?

hd 3000 good enuf to handle all movies u throw at it.

depends on how the clock speed of the GPU is configured, and also the cooling as well...

not too sure abt HD 3000, but for my ATi GPU it has a 2D clock speed (general use), low performance 3D clock speed (Flash, movies, low end games) and high performance 3D clock speed (high end games)...

the fan won't kick in in 2D mode and thus the heat is almost the same as when in low performance 3D mode...

If to compare, somehow normal rate HD3000 < HD6470 clocking by 50-100 but when it runs with turbo will be super fast clock which will lead higher heat than HD 6470?

high tempt while gaming ha? mine one reach 60C when play dota for 4 games..movie oso the same...like sifu astria said, it depend with clock speed

the underlying principle is still the same, 2D clock and 3D clock, juz that Intel gives it a nice name and make it sound nice...

considering that now the GPU core is packed in the same die as the CPU, heat from it should be considered by the laptop maker when cooling it... HD 3000 should be close to HD 6470M in terms of performance...

at the end of the day, it still depends on how the cooling is implemented in the laptop...
