depends on how the clock speed of the GPU is configured, and also the cooling as well...
not too sure abt HD 3000, but for my ATi GPU it has a 2D clock speed (general use), low performance 3D clock speed (Flash, movies, low end games) and high performance 3D clock speed (high end games)...
the fan won't kick in in 2D mode and thus the heat is almost the same as when in low performance 3D mode...
Have any idea with HD 6470? according to
http://www.notebookcheck.net/AMD-Radeon-HD...0M.43075.0.htmlCore Speed * 700 / 750 MHz
Shader Speed * 700 / 750 MHz
Memory Speed * 800 MHz
http://www.notebookcheck.net/Intel-HD-Grap...00.37948.0.html (HD3000)
While HD 3000's Mainstream and high-end Dual und Quad-Core Core ix-2xx0 (base 650MHz, Turbo 1100-1200MHz)
Core Speed * 350-1350 MHz
Shader Speed * 350-1350 MHz
If to compare, somehow normal rate HD3000 < HD6470 clocking by 50-100 but when it runs with turbo will be super fast clock which will lead higher heat than HD 6470?
