if your aircond is not meant to work with R410a gas, so you have to change the aircond in the future if you want to fill the new gas. Just that you can maintain the piping.
My advice would be to just continue using the R22 aircond if it is not giving you problems. If your piping and aircond are properly installed there should be very little chance of leakage so you don't need to refill the gas often anyway. If you find that you need to top up the gas regularly then you need to find the source of the leak then only worry about the choice of gas.
