If you're comparing DSLR sound, that's because of the lens. Phone Camera or compact digital cam should have no such issue. I think what he meant is, for his use, he crops a lot I think. Though, you still need a good sensor and lens, else the image will be useless for cropping. so that's why I think the nokia removed the CAF for N8 (but surely the N8 can easily perform CAF) as it's a hw limitation (where the AF mechanical are too noisy) but for this N9 8MP module they some how enable the CAF feature...
