i also not sure why my setcpu can use..
earlier, i root using the methods on page 1.. after that, i perform the re-partition..
after that i install clockworkmod n do a backup..
after backup, i install with B160 rom.. play around with it, dont like it at all..
so i restore back to ori using clockworkmod.. so now, i'm bck to ori ROM (B136)..
i can install setcpu n modify the speed/etc..

i remember someone said there is 2 diff ROM version available in msia. maybe one version can overclock, another cannot gua..

Goto your setCPU --> Info Tab. Then tap Device. See what it says under Kernel. Most likely, its the kernel from geno where u flashed earlier before u back to stock ROM
*
mine for the kernel -> Linux version 2.6.32.9-perf (geno@geno-desktop)
do u mean that my kernel is not the standard/ori anymore? blink.gif

Taadaaa !!! I guessed correctly. See how i said most likely the kernel u using is from geno ??

and yes ,your info on the kernel already clearly described that kernel is a custom kernel by geno smile.gif
*
oh.. but i did the restoration from the clockworkmod..
i thought it suppose to restore back to the ori ROM as per backup.. rclxub.gif
geno rom is from the B160?

ori ROM shld display what under kernel?

Custom ROM
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1059753

Step 1: Set up Clockwork Recovery:

1. Download clockwork at http://www.multiupload.com/DQGL84P3A5. Unzip and only use the recovery.img from the cust folder.
2. Ensure that there are no Huawei rom updates on your SD-Card in the dload folder and unplug the phone from your computer
3. Boot to bootloader mode by pressing the up and down volume keys and pressing the power button. This will show a plain violet/purple screen.
4. Connect the phone to your computer. In windows it will automatically mount one mass storage device which corresponds to the /cust_backup folder on your phone. If your OS supports EXT3 it will mount multiple devices, look for the one with an images directory and this is the device to use.
(Basically there is a flash drive with a folder that you can rename the current recover.img and paste the clockwork one.)
5. In the images directory rename recovery.img to something else (ie. recovery.bak) and then copy the new recovery image in its place.
6. Exit bootloader mode by pulling out the battery.

Note: You now have the clockwork recovery installed. Boot to recovery by holding the volume up and power buttons to turn the phone on.
To scrol up and down use the volume button. To enter/select use the power button.

Step 2: Set up Clockwork Recovery:

1. Download B160 ROM; update.zip to you pc from: http://www.multiupload.com/0HR8W3BMUR
Don't need to unzip it.
2. Copy update.zip to your sdcard. Either SD card or internal 2GB. Put in root/main directory.
2. Boot to clockworkmod recovery by pressing power button & volume up simultaneously (don't press volume down).
3. In clockwork you can perform a full backup. Go to backup & restore > backup > enter. Wait until it complete (there is a progress report).
Complete the backup.

Reboot back in Clockwork recovery.
4. Apply update from sdcard. It wil state the update.zip file found. Press power button for enter. Wait until it complete (there is a progress report).
5. Reboot to system. First boot will be slow as it rebuilds the dalvik cache so be patient, successive boots will be back to normal.
6. To ensure you are in the new ROM. There is a poweruser icon and its running launcher pro.

Notes

1. By default the kernel is set to the default cpu governor and clock speed. If you would like to overclock I suggest using setcpu: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.p...937&postcount=1
2. Be aware that after applying this you won't be able to restore the full backup unless you either revert to the original rom, or change the boot image. The purpose of the backup is instead to have a backup of /data just in case something goes wrong.

there are Removable Disk (H:) and Removable Disk (G:) there
i double click any of it
it wil just pop out a box and tell me to insert a disc into it

by using Hi suite,
can copy it into the root folder?
*
once u connect yr phone to yr notebook, it will popup the usb mass storage message and u need to "Turn on USB storage"..
once u turn on, u will then able to access both the drive.. one should be the internal 2gb sd card while another is yr external mem card storage.

partition is done!! rclxms.gif
by the way, i dont understand the purpose of transferring storage
from internal SD card to internal phone storage ( rom )
larger size of ROM provides smoother speed when running apps?
so is it better to transfer everything out frm it into memory card and leave it empty?

Added on June 21, 2011, 3:53 pm

it's done rclxms.gif
thanks a lot! tongue.gif
by the way, can help to answer the new question on top of this post?

Added on June 21, 2011, 3:57 pmerr...
after repartition
is the size at internal phone storage is shown as below

Available space
0.90 GB

im curious why it is not more than 1 GB?
*
most games/app still need to be installed on internal phone storage (ROM)..
since we will most probably be using external memory card, the internal sd card is a bit useless..
thts y we repartition the internal sd card n move some of the space to the internal phone storage..
this way.. we can install more app n games without worrying too much on inadequate space..

can u check whether yr old app/games/etc still exist?
i remember after i did my repartition, all my games n app still there..

btw bro.. u still using ori ROM, rite...
can u try to install setcpu n c whether u can overclock yr phone?
thanks.

but right tab is all still there.
so is that mean now my rom is empty?
but i only have 900 plus mb available storage
hmmm..My oc can only set 806400 as maximum
*
yup.. when we perform the partition, it will wipe out the ROM (left tab)..
900+MB left coz u still hv app/games/etc installed on the external mem card..
unless u wanna do a factory reset to wipe everything out n return yr phone to ori state..
then u can see the actual space u left..

seem like u cant OC with standard ROM.. smile.gif
