When asking about best antivirus, there should be mention of FREE ones or PAID ones. Cause it make a lot of difference.
Anyway, I am surprised someone mention Comodo. This is a relatively new comer to the antivirus/firewall world. However, they last I tested them, around 1 year ago, I hated it. It is slightly bloated, lousy interface, and very bad detection rate. Maybe it's better now.
But currently, my fav is avast and MSE (for freeware antivirus). So far very happy with both and not likely to change. And my fav paid antivirus is NOD32.

But firewall, it kinda rawckss although it is quite troublesome at times. This post has been edited by highwind: Jun 21 2011, 04:26 PM

AVG and Avast will do fine.... I have tries avast, avira, kaspersky, avg, and kingston.......avira has higher detection rates....avg good with many features...kingston not so impresive although it can detect virus moderately(was paid one)...kaspersky is a good antivirus too.

I recently find that if you can use some lighter antivirus such as Avast and then use Comodo Firewall on top of it can do a solid protection. It's a free + free combination.
