Reli LOL at Liverpool thread. if they wanna bid 22m, then thats their business la. based on clause, if MU offer 16m Blackburn also have to accept. If Liverpool wanna bid 22m, thats their own choice and Blackburn also have to accept. Then its up to Jones to choose which contract he wants to sign la. The contract doesnt say whoever pay the highest will buy him, thats not how a release-clause works.

hijacker la, bully la...seriously so addicted to any news regarding MU. We are the one that is "rumoured" to sign Henderson in january, but now they sign him. I didnt see anyone claim they are bully and hijacker also. If they really have to power to lure Jones over, then do it and get him la. All's fair and square in transfers, until a signature is put down. If based on their theory that if they are interested others kenot kacau, nobody else can sign Sneijder, Modric, De gea. Neuer would have to come to us and cannot sign for Bayern dy. Bayern is a bully laugh.gif

Glazers linked with flotation and buy-out

The long-term future of Manchester United is the subject of speculation as its Glazer family owners have been linked with both a sale to Qatar Holdings and a floatation on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.

A report in The People says that United's current transfer splash - including imminent deals for David De Gea, Phil Jones and Ashley Young plus links with Luka Modric, Wesley Sneijder and Samir Nasri - is being funded ahead of a takeover by Qatar, who were linked with a buy-out throughout the 2010-11 season.

Qatar Holdings, a division of the Qatar Investment Authority, are said to have had a £1.5billion offer turned down last year and were rumoured to have handed over a £250 million loan to pay off some steepling Payment-In-Kind notes. United's spokesmen have always denied such a link and insisted the club is not for sale at any price.

Qatari interests have recently assumed full control of Paris St-Germain, and now sponsor Barcelona, which may bring into question the idea of a conflict if interest for the game's administrators.

The Sunday Times however, says that the Glazer family have held talks with investment banks to investigate listing the Premier League champions on the Hong Kong stock exchange, valuing the club at £1.7 billion, more than double the £790 million paid for the club in 2005.

Their interest is said to have been triggered by the successful floatation of companies like Samsonite and Prada in Asia. The club's annual revenue of £286m and operating profit of £91m were the highest in the Premier League but Red Football, the club's holding company, incurred a £79m loss through interest payments on the debts piled on to the Glazer family via a leveraged buy-out.

Non Transfer Source

Opinions? Im not a business person so dunno if this is a good or bad news laugh.gif

means that the 16M release clause is not an actual release clause at all hmm.gif  hmm.gif

Extra 4m is due to goodwill from the club. To speed up process, make Blackburn satisfy a bit, and get rid of the hassle. It's not by any way to satisfy Blackburn's demands. We could still insist on the 16.5m clause, but later Blackburn can make lots of hassle...slow down process la, delay this delay that la.

Plus these British players are less likely to leave the club, especially overseas. Those Spanish speaking players are more likely to make that transition.

How many good British keeper are there in the first place? Even the young Joe Hart makes 2 mistakes in england's recent game. Mistakes just can't seem to evade English goalies. Throw in Roy Carroll from Northen Ireland and you get the whole "British keepers" sweat.gif

At the very least we still have Ben Amos to give it a try smile.gif

I think its the other way round la. CM back then like Scholes, can have no problem playing up front as AM, even as ST. Or CM like Butt and Keane, can move back and be DM. But nowadays i think too specialized. Younger AM, for example Ozil, if u try putting him in CM with the view to defend when opponent dont have the ball, i think he will have a tough time adjusting. But those are pure AM, someone like Kaka. Maybe Cleverley can play CM coz of the toughness of the English game.

nowadays very difficult to find a CM who can adjust to DM or AM depending on tactics, the best example would be Stevie G. Once quoted as the "both the best attacker and defender in the Liverpool squad" laugh.gif

yeah hart has been good over the years. But since Seaman, he's the most promising one, just shows that solid English keeper is a rare breed laugh.gif 2nd best would probably be Paul Robinson and Robert Green, while may be superb at times but i wouldnt count on their consistency. Regardless, VDS has set a very high standard for coming goalies.
