So why don't you do a 8 hour overnight charge as suggested by many. Personally I don't do it. I don't even practice those methods charge n recharge off etc etc ad proposed by dhd users.
As your phone still new observe few more days. Don't get too worried now. But I must say the big drain overnight is disturbing, disable WiFi since you are not using itthere are many theories why such battery drain happen . Best is still you set your own controls on battery usage overnite. Freezing apps esp default apps you do not need will help too conserving battery

And the rojak mix in ROM doesn't matter at all .

Just imagine those of us early users who paid rm2400 to rm2800 for their overseas sets. We console ourselves these as additional costs to be an early user and enjoy it 1 to 2 months earlier. So is the premium worth it. As far as i am concerned worth every single sen. This is indeed a marvellous phone. I am even willing to pay rm3k for it comparing to the rm2.9k I paid for my last HTC hd2 when launch.

Why not ? Just plug in any generic USB-micro USB cable ( or your phone cable ) into it as it comes witha full USB port. These are just chargers and all other external chargers too are not brand /model specifics . It comes with too many other commonly phone tips. When buying such external battery charger important is to look at the output - for just for charging your phone - is a no brainer - just plug in. This charger output is 1000mA. However if you own a higher input requirement phone ,e g the Dell Streak it needs minimum 1000mA unlike all other common smartphones 500mA is the norm. The Galaxy Tab, HTC Flyer example needs 2000mA but at 1000mA it will still charge but slower - connecting such devices to it you will see the battery usage rising up faster than charging. So is best to use it to charge such gadgets on standby mode

Added on June 16, 2011, 10:44 amRight !!! One thing nice about Samsung's roms - you can flash I called a ROJAK mix /combination. You can use Europe firmware with an Asian baseband radio with a multi SCS or region specific CSC - it doesn't matter at all. Look at all the rom developers combination - is a rojak mix too. They mix in , in their best opinion the best combo for you. I will only recommend you change the phone modem file if you are not happy with it. But having tested so many roms, I do not find any issue with all the phone modem files
Example in my Galaxy Tab, I use a Europe based firmware but I use an Asian baseband radio. At one point it was the reverse, Asian firmware and Europe baseband radio

No offence; I use to say only A DUMB GUY can brick his SGS II phone rooting it using Odin. If he knows how to use ODin, flashing is just a piece of cake.
But a SMART guy can brick trying to root/HSPL a Windows MObile 6 smartphone if he is not careful. A smartguy can easily brick his Dell Streak flashing it. Rooting and flashing the SGS II is so, I say freaking easy. As long as you know how to read simple English , you will be OK

Put in simple terms: Flashing WM roms need a +10 effort ; doing it on the SGS II is minus 10 effort

Be careful , very careful using root explorer to change your system files. Depending on the parameter you wish to change, One wrong alphabet can just freeze and your phone will not reboot successfully. Than you pray your phone can still go into download mode - if not , you need to get a jig to fix it or send in to service center.

People buy iPhone simply because, to quote Steve Jobs " It is the BEST smartphone in the WORLD". Tell me which CEO ever dare to make such a statement ?? In the recent Apple meeting , again we hear " ioS5 is the BEST mobile operating sytem ", "LION is the BEST desktop operating system ". Other CEO just say , we are one of the best

Anyway downloading from hotfile ,estimate 30 mins .

I always check the zip file can be unzip successfully before I flash it

Mezziquan : i read through your whole tirade and has this to say. One cannot compare performance just solely based on hardware specs alone. Your view of such is just too simplistic and I would even said naive. Similar analogy it does not mean a 2000 cc car is more powerful than a 1800 cc car. Do you know, example the VW Golf GTi 2.0 litre has better pickup and quicker off from stationary versus the BMW 2500 cc car . The VW cost RM 230,000 vs RM 400,000 of the BMW

Performance heavily depends on software. Not to degrade your opinion, I always say the SGS is the worst Android smartphone I have ever used ( even with all the OCLF, voodoo fix, cook roms ) ; see my signature to see all the androids I have used. This stand of mine has make many SGS users unhappy. If you are coming from the SGS, the SGS 2 will blow your brains apart when you use it. It is a 100% , 360 degree turn around beast of a smartphone. One of the most obvious improvement is Samsung became wiser and adopt a EXT4 file system in the SGS II versus the old antique RFS system in the older SGS - this makes a lot of difference

So don't get so disturbed - the probably milisecond degrade in performance due to your argument it having a less powerful chip will not affect your joy/experience using the phone. I don't think our brain has the power to be able to discern accurately such differences in performance. Don't get too influenced by statistical analysis of performance.
GEEZ - it is only a phone, why get so disturbed by it. If you are not happy, just don't buy it

Supermach : the first time you run Titanium Backup - it will always show your phone root cannot be accessed . When you launch it first time, there is a warning dialog box - did you see it ?? Depending on what version you are running - either tap the problems box to update busybox or update busybox separately
