hi, i think you must upgrade your tv to LCD liao la..... now lcd with 1080 full hd is cheap cheap liao la.... for branded 32" cost abt Rm1000.00
now a lot of media player was support for 1080 full HD, if you afford to pay more, than should looking for middle high media player, dont buy the cheap media player.

yes CRT TV can be connected to media player via composite video, HD movie will automatically be down-scaled to 576i(PAL) or 480i(NTSC)

to play real video file you need media player with realtek chipset, price ranging from RM200 to RM400, latest chipset from realtek is 1185, old chipset still very popular used in media player is 1073

all media player can support full HD output up to 1080p 60Hz

CRT TV sure can play (not support) 720p or 1080p or HD .. But the question is do you get HD picture quality??? The answer is NO... Because CRT is not HDTV.
If you want to watch HD quality, you must have HDTV, Bluray / Media Player,,, etc...

Sorry for any misinformation...

normal CRT TV can't support 720p/1080p, max resolution for home used CRT TV is 576i or 480i

Sorry, what I mean is, CRT can watch the HD movie, but can't support HD 720p / 1080..... But you can watch the movie one, like I say before, you can watch but no HD quality, just normal only...

Sorry for any misunderstanding...
