for those having GPS issue, u guys might want to try the below :
got it from XDA ARDH forum: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=840040 My GPS signal is very weak or GPS is not working at all. How can I fix it? A: There are some solutions: 1. You can download and install FasterFix to improve your signal strength. 2. You can download and install GPS Status & Toolbox to manage your GPS settings. 3. Turn off "Fast boot" under "Settings" ---> "Power" and reboot your phone. 4. Wipe the EFS data in your device. Read this for further instuctions (http://tinyurl.com/6an8otm) . This is very effective solution. 5. Read this http://tinyurl.com/6auejnk, http://tinyurl.com/6xmhg2r and http://tinyurl.com/3wueo9u |

What's this ext4 partition thingy that I now have to flash before updating my rom?
Does that mean it'll wipe everything I have when I next flash a new rom? |

ext4 is a file system used on linux system which is what android is based on, and yes most ROM developers include wiping of your system , data , and cache partitions (on your fone not SD) to ext4 format when installing new ROMs.

QUOTE(aberrant80 @ Jun 6 2011, 04:30 PM) But how will this affect my current nandroid backups? i do not not think it is possible as the ROM was established in ext3 format and ext4 is different, tho others may correct me if im wrong.I have a stock rom backup I did a long time ago, can that still be restored if I change to ext4? but if u did format ur partitions into ext4 and restored your stock ROM, it's gonna revert the file system back to ext3. QUOTE(aberrant80 @ Jun 6 2011, 04:30 PM) But how will this affect my current nandroid backups? Yes, you can use your Nand backup back, but need to know that it'll revert back to EXT3. That's because of CWM still don't have EXT4 backup feature. But some said if using CWM v3.2.0.0 can backup nandroid and still on EXT4. But I'm not confirm about this.I have a stock rom backup I did a long time ago, can that still be restored if I change to ext4? |
