Started the game on Dark Mode because I know that there are three sets of armor and weapons exclusive to Dark Mode, big mistake. sweat.gif Struggled my butt trying to get through prologue. In the end, I stopped playing the story and went on to play arena mode to hone my skills. Finally I'm able to enjoy Dark Mode now.

So I recommend to play on easy or normal for your first playthrough and then play the harder ones on your second playthrough.

Got the game thanks to recommendation from KidIcarus. It's tough to get used to even on normal - too chicken to play dark 1st playthrough tongue.gif Does anyone find the navigation and map system impossible?! Trying to find those blue dots which are relevant to quests are painstaking like dwarf bookseller for example. Even with install to console still see tons of loading screens. Great game otherwise.

This game doesn't show or tell you everything so it takes a lot of exploring. Been a long time since I've played a hardcore RPG like this. By the way, the load screens aren't that bad, there are many but they are quite quick.

Are you guys playing on dark? What's the best build to survive - magic?

Finished playthrough today, act 3 was really short. One tip for the 10k orens achievement (miser) either grind it in act2 or hoard lots of items in chest at inn as you can sell it later in act3. There's just no way to make money in act3 once you're there besides those few quests which don't pay much.

That was fast, but not surprising seeing how you've been playing this non stop. I am a bit surprised that you're selling it off already and also curious as to whether I was right in saying that this is your type of game or totally off the mark.

It was a good recommendation, thanks. Story was great but the annoyances made me not enjoy the story. It's quite clunky - a to climb/jump, potions & oils, inventory sorting etc. Difficulty curve was backwards (hard beginning, easy by midpoint). Not much replay value either so am done with it. My husband lost interest straight from tutorial, understand his frustrations with the game. It's not esy to pick up and go, will turn off most casual gamers.

darksouls is very different, its abit like old AD&D style western medival RPG with an autosave feature, if you have done somethings wrong it will punish you with death or missout some stuffs, its also abit like Virtual MMORPG, every one plays the game sametime but you dont see them, you could interact with words & yr shadow/ghost sometimes.

its hardcore =P, be prepare to die "alot"

"A lot" is an understatement for Dark Souls
it's more like "Always", "repeatedly", "again, and again, and again, and again...." tongue.gif
lost count of how many times i threw down my controller in anger during my first play thru doh.gif
definitely not for those impatient gamers tongue.gif

Now I'm in NG+ of Dark Souls with SL130
fed up, and frustrated and give up the game when i got killed repeatedly by the ghosts in New Londo Ruins doh.gif

You can download it. You just need setup VPN to your 360. biggrin.gif
I did it last time for Gears 2 DLC & AC3(Free game thanks to MS China brows.gif )
Now manyak susah & hassle of setting things up. sweat.gif
better purchase it using browser then can straight download it on your Xbox One.

It is free for all region except Japan, go to Xbox.com > Scroll to bottom change to Singapore > search for Witcher 2 (6gb+) then you should be able to Buy/Get it free. Not sure why but the Witcher 2 on US Xbox page is 7gb+

And you need to change your Xbox One region also. or not it wouldn't show up in My Games and Apps list.
Thought new console no more region lock.

well its consider no region lock in this way, kinda like PS they need to have multiple PSN to access different region game, for Xbox atleast the gamertag doesnt need to change only the console region change is good enough compare to that.
