There's been a lot of speculation whether The Witcher 2 will be released on consoles. The original game was supposed to receive console ports, but ended up being cancelled. This time however, there's a confirmation that the sequel is indeed being released on the Xbox 360, and while it's not from developer CD Project, the confirmation comes from the ESRB website, which gives ratings to games that have been submitted to be released to the public.

The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings has been listed on the ESRB website for PC and Xbox 360 platforms. There's still a possibility of a PS3 release as CD Project is sure to make an announcement on the console ports at E3 in a couple of weeks. One thing has been made clear by CD Project is that if there are to be any console ports, they won't be dumbed down, which is great news for console gamers. As soon as we know more, we'll be sure to let you know.

more blood, violence, boobies and sex!! brows.gif

No official announcement yet but according to Gameinformer, expect something at E3 this June. Whether it could be console versions is unconfirmed yet but definitely not Witcher 3 according to the devs so the chances are high, Gameinformer said.

after playing the PC version, I can say that this game is meant for consoles since the controls are more tailored to controller.

game is Demon Souls hard though, might put off a lot of people.

i will admit.
playing this concurrently with LA Noire, I can confirm that Witcher 2 assaults you with images of naked ladies faster.

hey grey are you gonna spend 1k for 3DS+DOA 3DS to look at 3D barely legal girls? I'm... kinda tempted.

is they cover up the naughty bits of the game

ie censor the hairy parts.

which one could say, is the reason you go buy the PAL version cause EU is cool with hair. US not so much.

AUS PAL no MK eh
whats the chance of them getting Witcher2. which is mostly gore and naked tits. according to ESRB:

http://www.esrb.org/ratings/synopsis.jsp?Certificate=31097

This is a role-playing game in which players assume the role of Geralt, a monster slayer who must hunt down an assassin to clear his own name. As players complete quests, they use swords and magic spells to kill enemy soldiers and fantastical creatures (e.g., specters, harpies, spider-like monsters) in melee-style combat; attacks are often accompanied by slashing sounds and screams of pain. Blood-splatter effects occur when enemies are hit, and damage sometimes results in dismemberment or decapitation—blood stains and body parts occasionally appear in the environment. Other cutscenes depict gore and more intense acts of violence: a close-up view of a severed head; a restrained woman's eyes getting gouged out (off-screen); a character being castrated (not depicted) before his throat is slit. During the course of the game, some female characters are depicted topless; there is also a fleeting image of pubic hair as a woman dives into the water Players can initiate brief cutscene sequences that depict varying degrees of sexual activity: a topless woman rocking on top of man; a man caressing a woman's back; a man pushing up against a woman's posterior—sexual moaning sounds can be heard , though the camera cuts away from explicit sexual acts. Some sequences depict a cocaine-like substance being cut into lines; another scene shows a man's back as he snorts the substance. Language such as 'f**k,' 'sh*t,' and 'c*nt' can be heard in the dialogue.

Just picked up my copy from Gamer's hideout, it's the PAL version but region free. Came with a free guidebook and map. So yeah it's in English.

Started the game on Dark Mode because I know that there are three sets of armor and weapons exclusive to Dark Mode, big mistake. sweat.gif Struggled my butt trying to get through prologue. In the end, I stopped playing the story and went on to play arena mode to hone my skills. Finally I'm able to enjoy Dark Mode now.

So I recommend to play on easy or normal for your first playthrough and then play the harder ones on your second playthrough.

Got the game thanks to recommendation from KidIcarus. It's tough to get used to even on normal - too chicken to play dark 1st playthrough tongue.gif Does anyone find the navigation and map system impossible?! Trying to find those blue dots which are relevant to quests are painstaking like dwarf bookseller for example. Even with install to console still see tons of loading screens. Great game otherwise.

This game doesn't show or tell you everything so it takes a lot of exploring. Been a long time since I've played a hardcore RPG like this. By the way, the load screens aren't that bad, there are many but they are quite quick.

Are you guys playing on dark? What's the best build to survive - magic?

Finished playthrough today, act 3 was really short. One tip for the 10k orens achievement (miser) either grind it in act2 or hoard lots of items in chest at inn as you can sell it later in act3. There's just no way to make money in act3 once you're there besides those few quests which don't pay much.

That was fast, but not surprising seeing how you've been playing this non stop. I am a bit surprised that you're selling it off already and also curious as to whether I was right in saying that this is your type of game or totally off the mark.

It was a good recommendation, thanks. Story was great but the annoyances made me not enjoy the story. It's quite clunky - a to climb/jump, potions & oils, inventory sorting etc. Difficulty curve was backwards (hard beginning, easy by midpoint). Not much replay value either so am done with it. My husband lost interest straight from tutorial, understand his frustrations with the game. It's not esy to pick up and go, will turn off most casual gamers.

darksouls is very different, its abit like old AD&D style western medival RPG with an autosave feature, if you have done somethings wrong it will punish you with death or missout some stuffs, its also abit like Virtual MMORPG, every one plays the game sametime but you dont see them, you could interact with words & yr shadow/ghost sometimes.

its hardcore =P, be prepare to die "alot"

"A lot" is an understatement for Dark Souls
it's more like "Always", "repeatedly", "again, and again, and again, and again...." tongue.gif
lost count of how many times i threw down my controller in anger during my first play thru doh.gif
definitely not for those impatient gamers tongue.gif

Now I'm in NG+ of Dark Souls with SL130
fed up, and frustrated and give up the game when i got killed repeatedly by the ghosts in New Londo Ruins doh.gif

It is free for all region except Japan, go to Xbox.com > Scroll to bottom change to Singapore > search for Witcher 2 (6gb+) then you should be able to Buy/Get it free. Not sure why but the Witcher 2 on US Xbox page is 7gb+

And you need to change your Xbox One region also. or not it wouldn't show up in My Games and Apps list.
Thought new console no more region lock.

well its consider no region lock in this way, kinda like PS they need to have multiple PSN to access different region game, for Xbox atleast the gamertag doesnt need to change only the console region change is good enough compare to that.
