I have a problem updating the GPU driver. I always encounter BSOD while trying to update 11.5a/b. No problems with 11.3 though. I tried jedi_dc's method but the screen went blank after the install. But GPU-Z shows that my driver is updated.

Tried The Witcher 2, game crashed and BSOD because driver failed again. Do I need to reformat or what?

cowithgun, that's the method I always use when updating my drivers. Again, no problems with 11.3. Just 11.5. I have no idea why. Anyway, I got The Witcher 2 running using Medium settings. Game looks awesome so far. I can't wait to test it on my PC. However my CPU temp shot up to 95c. LOL

The first Witcher was good if not saddled with bugs. If you do get it, remember to download the Enhanced Edition for free. Bugs are gone and the game gets better.

Sigh. This GPU driver thing is driving me mad. I did a system restore and tried reinstalling the driver. After DriverSweeper cleaned the drivers and reboot, my LCD went black. Sound is there though. So, I just installed in Discreet mode. Still unstable after a few hours in gaming. GPU-Z can't detect the 6550's BIOS.

How to recover to its "factory default" settings? I'll try to avoid reformat at all costs. Unless I'm desperate biggrin.gif

Anyway cowithgun, I tried the fan profiles. Guess my 4820TG's firmware is not supported. Would be awesome if it works though tongue.gif

Ok. Finally I got time to factory reset my laptop. Got 11.5b running without any problems. Thank you, cowithgun.

Anyway, I got The Witcher 2 running on Medium settings. I found that if you disable Uber Sampling and SSOD for The Witcher 2, you got a much smoother game. Not to forget update it with the newly released 1.1 patch. Happy wasting the hours away playing this game! biggrin.gif
