Yesterday I got Windows Update, after update asking for restart, so I restart it.
when boot up, it take very damn long time at "Starting Windows".

I wonder new update have some bug on 4820TG...

Take a look, Now 4820TG can use SP1 update, its ok?

I have all those update you have too. Did not experience slow down in boot time...

Ya, defrag can probably help biggrin.gif

oh well, I think defrag use Live CD, so can defrag fully without any file used.
but I use system restore, it normal = = why eh?

you also got SP1 update?

no need to defrag with Live CD anymore, windows defrag can use shadow file that will still allow u to move file even when using.

i dont use system restore except when i wanna roll back stuff....

i m using SP1...

I defrag, restart, no hope T_T still take so many minute to boot up, what happen now? do I format the OS? or Restore back?


Added on October 15, 2011, 2:21 amOk, now funny, I try restart, boot up take 12minute 33sec (stopwatch) and blue screen! I cant read because to fast!

I wonder why??? some windows update make my laptop 4820TG boot up very slow =( even I defrag hard disk no solve,

is that only me or other also got effect?

Something is not right. Try run chkdsk /F

If need to chkdsk /f sure windows defrag ask chkdsk first,
well, run safe mode also slow,

i dont think format use pirate T_T, ah,
what if, use system restore?, disable update? i restore where uninstall last update and look normal = =.

I install update one by one, any non "Security Update for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems"
restart, shutdown turn on... looking fine and normal

Install update "Security Update for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems" start from smallest size to bigger size:
restart, shutdown turn on... looking fine and normal

Left update that I think cause blue screen and slow boot up:
