i just ran The Witcher 2 on the latest Nvidia driver.........and it sucks
I have not try the previous driver but the latest driver claim they fix the low performance issue for The Witcher 2.
I put the settings to high and disabled blurs, shadow medium, off vsync and the FPS i got i would say is around 5-10 doh.gif i might have put it too high
anyways, after exiting the game, my desktop start screwing up. The windows taskbar at the bottom became blue and not transparent anymore doh.gif . Also the blue and white light keeps blinking. The only way to solve this is by restart.
Dam this game gives me lots of headache.
Btw, playing crysis 2 on high with the latest driver is smooth all the way thumbup.gif

You were mentioning about the WHQL 275.xx is it?

The blue and white light keeps blinking = try to check out if your HWMonitor is on. If yes, turn it off. It will return to blue light.

Crysis II High Settings, you mean the "High" , "Very High" and "Extreme" ? Or is it "Extreme"

Because default in C2 is - Low = High, Medium = Very High , High = Extreme.  icon_rolleyes.gif

lol mine is advance, gamer and hardcore.... for crysis 2 i mean..

confirm HW Monitor not on. Optimus is just screwing up.

Anyway, it is High. Very high also quite smooth except for certain parts la. Somehow high does not feel like low graphics.
advance, gamer and hardcore hmm.gif did you dl the latest patch????

if wan NFS Shift GT540M can support la if Shift 2 better go for DV 6
If u wan ur laptop to last for 5 yrs, i suggest u getting a i7 to be future proof. Plus if ur using photoshop, im sure ur gonna multitask. i7 quad core is perfect for the job. Not only that, using photoshop im sure ur gonna need extra RAM. 4GB or 8GB isn't enough as claim by some ppl.
FYI, N53SV i5 can add up to 8gb while the i7 N53SV can add up to 16gb.

If you really really wan ur laptop to last for 5 yrs, either find a N53SN+GT550M@RM3299 or get the DV6 without the headphones

Also seeing your budget is RM2900, the other alternative is getting the Lenovo Y470, i7-2630QM + Nvidia GT550M + JBL speakers@RM2999

thanks for the reply.
lenovo? hurm, b4 this the y470p(if not mistaken) have an issues right?
i scared about the quality. but the speaker JBL is really good but just dont have subwoofer like XPS.
i think have to topup to get i7 then.

btw how is the quality then for y470?

now i hv to choose y470 @ n53s @ dv6 huhuhuh

*
the previous y460p got so called "problems" with switchable graphics.
Anyway, the y470 is using Nvidia Optimus so there wont be any serious issue. Plus, the design of the y470 looks appealing thumbup.gif
The JBL speaker is actually slightly above average compared to those Altec Lansing or THX speakers on budgets laptop.

Like i said, since ur budget really cannot go above RM3k, then y470 is the most suitable choice cause it comes with Nv GT550M thumbup.gif
But the quality of the laptop is questionable la hmm.gif

Buffer rates..meh no idea LOL. I just put High (Low). You OC your GT550M or something?
That is some cool shit man biggrin.gif 7.4! FTW!
*
It's advise not to OC your laptop GPU cause OC obviously increase the GPU temp and it might wear off the thermal paste. Also, OCing your GPU could degrade its life. I have seen ppl saying that their procs could last 3-4yrs longer than their GPU. Plus the GPU is solder to the mobo, so if GPU die......time to get a new laptop laugh.gif

The new N53S doesnt have driver CeeDee given to you...
Oh, that explains the automatic switching. And ATi have to manually set whether you want it to be Intel or ATi right? hmm got pros and cons..i prefer manual switching at times ..cause i noticed that Optimus technology still isnt perfected yet..occasionally the system crashes/acts funny after a long intensive switch.
*
sry but had to bring some bad news
Even ATi/AMD is going auto rclxm9.gif ......might be bad news for you tongue.gif
It is called AMD PowerXPress 4.0 aka BACON(short for "Bus Alive Chip Off Now!" for now). Most probably AMD will release an update for current GPU...or it might only be available for future GPU
